That being said, there has to be a come-to-Jesus moment on the way for the revenue producing college sports. The explosion of the transfer portal and NIL contracts are basically turning college programs into mini-pro teams where you need to not only have a personnel department looking for players coming out of high school, but for the "free agents" at other colleges. All of this while trying to maintain a straight face in keeping non-profit tax status, Title IX, and state funding.
