College players leaving teams are not uncommon. Yes, we have had our share of this recently. The best teams have depth and the necessary backups to replace these loses. Let us see if we have players to fill in for these loses.
 
We have 5 CBs thats not good at all, Redwine can drop back to CB if needed, but this is not ideal at all, Mayes could have left after this season

We had 5 CBs with or without Mayes. He was terrible and had been passed up by a walk-on on the depth chart.

I knew there'd be a poster who would think this is some kind of loss though

First year in awhile we have actually been eligible to have 85 scholarships...and we are headed into camp with only 74 scholarship players (including Ford who has yet to report). There must be some reason to trim the numbers this low. Might it have something to do with the early signing period in December causing those scholarships to count toward the 85 immediately? Anyone have any insight on this?
