This makes no sense, and someone called him out in the comments. He magically has the NFL $$ freed up after the COLLEGE REGULAR SEASON ends this weekend? Not the end of the NFL season. Makes, literally, ZERO sense.

Let’s evaluate this idiotic rumor. Let’s accept as true that the Gators aren’t announcing Chip because he gets 6 million dollars if he is unemployed at the end of the college football season.

That means for certain he didn’t sign anything. UF’s contracts are public record. If he had signed a contract, it isn’t secret, and the 49ers or whoever could see that he actually had the job with UF when this piece of his buyout supposedly came due. By signing the UF contract and accepting the 49ers buyout money, Chip would be breaching his 49ers contract and UF may even be liable for tortious interference, So, 100% fake news on that end.

If this is true that he needs to wait until the end of the CFB season, it is very unlikely that he has an agreement in principle. That news leaks quick. Read the old Pat Dooley article about when Meyer agreed to take the job. The news had broken on websites by time Dooley walked outside of Meyer’s front door. The Richt news broke a day or two before he signed a contract. It is possible that they do have an agreement in principle, but it is being kept very close to the vest and nobody would know besides the people on that UF plane.

Yeah he said as much at his 1 pm presser. Will be interesting to see Chip start recruiting for UF tomorrow too.

That "wink" can mean only two things. 1) you think the other poster is cute or 2) Chip Kelly's agent and attorney (if they're different people) have committed amongst the most egregious cases of legal malpractice they're risking disbarment. You've played this string out long enough. Your guess work expired @ 1PM today. Obviously, if there was such a weird nonsensical NFL agreement you'd have known about it before reading it here and concocting your 1 PM deadline. Take the, "L."
