Rumor on CS board

Yes and they've been trying to fix 836 for like 20 years now and it's still a disaster. LOL
20? It was a disaster when I drove it 30 years ago. The only thing they improved was Golden Glades interchange.

That is a certain individual's, "wish list," but not a plan.

Manny and Blake being fired is a forgone conclusion that UM sat on from the moment we hit 2-4. That's not a plan either, just the only possible outcome.

Lol at the idea of breaking a lease in favor of a 25,000 capacity stadium that will attract fewer fans from the north.

Agreed... what stupid idea.
We play in one of the finest CFB stadium and these id10ts keeping talking about building some Mickey mouse stadium somewhere....

JRS is awesome, especially with the roof. Now put the right product on the field and crowds will come

Hard Rock is THE perfect stadium for a reinvigorated UM. Bring in Mario or Aranda as head coach ... win 10 or more games regular season .. improve recruiting .. dominate the ACC .. that stadium will be sold out for virtually all conference games and will have 50,000 in the seats for OOC games. That place absolutely ROCKS even with 45,000 canes fans in the seats. The canopied stadium reflects and magnifies sound. The UM / ND game in 2017 is the loudest stadium I have ever experienced .. and I was at the OB when Miami defeated the unbeaten UCLA team that was national championship bound (48-45 shootout). Another great aspect of the Rock is the fact that it's built with TURNPIKE exits right into the parking lot. Any stadium concept that involves Miami city streets is doomed.

Nah they're gonna fill in Biscayne Bay and build a state the art retractable domed stadium off the coast near Coral Gables.

How and Why??? Because Miami has $$$ like that to spend
Exactly. Why is the university sitting on that billion dollar endowment? Because they don't care about football.

We don’t need a stadium with more than 40k-45k seats. That would actually be ideal given that we don’t play teams that most people want to see aside from 1-2 games a year. We’re a small private school like Vandy, Wake, Duke, Stanford. If we have huge games at some point (who knows when that will be) it will just create more demand for the tickets.

We have fabulous stadium that is just fine for 40K or 70K.... don't put a ****** product on the field and then whine about 30K attendance.

This fanbase and town have supported the program for crappy teams it has put out there, coached by the worst lineup of coaches we could find....

Easier to fix the program than to build a new stadium.... all it takes is hiring comptence!!!

Just remember where you read this….

Blake will be fired.
Manny will be fired.

Total clean slate in athletic department.

New AD hired (Highsmith to assist in some capacity)
Mario Cristobal hired.

In 2022, University of Miami work together with the ownership of Inter Miami and announce to expand plans of new stadium (by the airport) to 40K-45K seats and agree on a deal to share stadium.

Sounds like Highsmith is a figurehead, like Doug Williams was in the Washington Redskins FO. No real authority now or in the future.

So miami all a sudden can afford to pay for Mario Buy out. And give him a new contract upwards of 8-10 million a year. Not to mention paying manny his buyout and Blake James buyout. And we haven't even spoke on how much it cost to break the Hard Rock lease. And getting a new stadium built.

Mario's buyout isn't a problem come Jan 1st....Lol at 8 to 10 million....it won't take that at all...

Ed Reed, perhaps. Don't think Highsmith has any interest in being just a figurehead.

***** building a new stadium.... for what? So that idiot politicians like Manny's pappy can embezzle more money like with the OB/Marlins' stadium fiasco???

FWIW, when the Beckham soccer stadium stuff came up a few years back, the plan was that for the big games like FSU and Notre Dame, UM would still play at Hard Rock. The rest of the season UM would play in the jointly owned football/soccer stadium.

Lol.

What qualifies as a big game? Just the school name? What happens if UNC suddenly is ranked #5 and a #2 Miami team is playing them? And what if FSU is 2-10 that season? Season ticket holders and are going to have to secure two different seats? And you think attendance is bad now, just wait until you advertise what's a "big game" and what's not.

As bad as the "let's play in a soccer stadium" idea was, splitting time between two stadiums is even worse.
