Rumor on CS board

FWIW, when the Beckham soccer stadium stuff came up a few years back, the plan was that for the big games like FSU and Notre Dame, UM would still play at Hard Rock. The rest of the season UM would play in the jointly owned football/soccer stadium.
And I would propose that, too. Treat it as a “neutral” site like Texas uses the Cowboy Stadium for big marquee games.

Whatever happened w/ that, btw?

You know sometimes, I really really think about making a fake account and Dan Sileo Jr’ing yall *** just to see how far it could go.

To this day, that is still the best troll I have ever seen. Not only for a message board, but in life in general. RIP to da goat.
So basically you already know how far it can go. If you mix in just a little negative info, you can get us to believe anything.

Lol at the idea of breaking a lease in favor of a 25,000 capacity stadium that will attract fewer fans from the north.

Shhhh....common sense makes no sense in the CIS universe....🤣🤣

Most of that is true , I have no idea where the stadium stuff keeps coming from , it’s been out there for awhile. I just figured it was bs. I’ll believe that when I see it.
I suspect it's because one of the Mas Brothers is involved, so they connect dots that don't line up.

So Manny and Blake are done? Are you saying Christmas is coming early?

What advantage/s does a smaller stadium closer to campus provide? More accessible to students? The VAST majority of people that attend Canes games are NOT students so they want to make it more difficult for the majority to attend games.

And what stadium would the players prefer to play in? A 65k seat NFL stadium with all the amenities or a 40k seat futbol stadium where we’d be ****ing in horse troughs like the grand OB. ****ing in horse troughs has got to be the main attraction.

Just remember where you read this….

Blake will be fired.
Manny will be fired.

Total clean slate in athletic department.

New AD hired (Highsmith to assist in some capacity)
Mario Cristobal hired.

In 2022, University of Miami work together with the ownership of Inter Miami and announce to expand plans of new stadium (by the airport) to 40K-45K seats and agree on a deal to share stadium.
Everything sounded great until the part about the stadium. If we move to a small soccer stadium the U as we know it is done.

People are just wanting a better image on TV. They aren’t worried about not getting into games.

No way I trade hard rock for a 40k stadium and 836 traffic. It was bad enough during the ob days. Now with the amount of people in the city it’s gonna be beyond chaotic.
I can only imagine a 730 kick off of on a Thursday night.
Yes and they've been trying to fix 836 for like 20 years now and it's still a disaster. LOL

We don’t need a stadium with more than 40k-45k seats. That would actually be ideal given that we don’t play teams that most people want to see aside from 1-2 games a year. We’re a small private school like Vandy, Wake, Duke, Stanford. If we have huge games at some point (who knows when that will be) it will just create more demand for the tickets.
