RUMOR: Goodbye Jordan Scarlett

At Miami we land an elite RB recruit, there is a great chance he gets great exposure and ends up a high draft pick(for a RB nowadays).

These guys all played for this current staff(Miller only 1 year) and none of them brought the tools that Jordan Scarlett has(215 lbs and 4.3 speed):

Lamar Miller was an elite RB recruit and playing great in the NFL...

Mike James was an average RB recruit and is having a very solid NFL career...

Duke Johnson was an elite RB recruit and will be drafted relatively high(when you consider the fact that RBs have been devalued in the draft over the last 5-7 years[very rare to see RBs in the 1st round anymore])

Remember when you guys signed Kelvin Taylor and Matt Jones and thought they would be those types of RBs for you?

What happened?

Matt Jones has no business leaving early, hasn't accomplished ****, b/c UF can't produce NFL RBs.

LMAO@ anyone thinking Matt Jones would be an elite RB. Most schools recruited him as a receiver. He's big, not elusive, and may be a 4.7 guy. Please stop making things up. You're right, a school is responsible for producing talent. It's not the kid's talent itself or the coaching staff in place. If a recruit signs at a particular school he's guaranteed to be a stud or bust. Genius.

McElwain likes to run the ball. Ingram and Richardson might be NFL busts, but like it or not Ingram won the heisman...and Richardson went top 10 in the draft. Lacy didn't bust and I'm sure McElwain will point that out.

Scarlett will end up there...just be happy we will likely hold onto Walton who is just as good.

Well Lamar Miller and Bernard Pierce are arguably better than Ingram and Richardson and they were coached by Al Golden.

Pierce isn't that good and Ingram had a decent season this past year. I think like 970 yards. Ingram was close to falling out the first round. The guy was selected because he went Bana. Dude ran like a 4.7 at the combine. I don't think its a matter of what school produces backs because each school has a different system. UF on had a few great backs to come out because Spurrier and Meyer threw more. Fun n Gun and the spread power option were the main systems. Until recently FSU didn't run as much as we did. They also didn't have the quality of backs as we did.

I think it's flawed to say that if Scarlet comes here he's guaranteed to be star in the league. Too be fair none of the backs Al brought in has done anything of significance. His best and productive backs were all recruited and committed to the previous staff( Miller and Duke). McElwan can say he took the 4th string back from Bana and made him into a 1400 yard back at CSU. If anything that's development.

Dude wtf are you talking about? Matt Jones was recruited as a running back by everybody. Would not have even considered a swith of positions. Now being from Tampa I thought he was severely overrated and laughed when people said he would be an elite rb

No he wasn't. He also had offers as an H-back at 6'3 225. He went to UF to play in Muschamp's power scheme as that fit him better. But I don't think anyone ever thought he'd be an elite RB and I personally never thought he was a feature back. He wasn't even UF's first choice that year, he's the definition of a JAG.

Who wouldn't want a 6'2 235lb WR that runs 4.7's?

Are you people new to recruiting? Just because he's listed at a particular position on his profile doesn't mean every school is recruiting him for that position. For example Tebow was ranked as the #1 dual-threat QB in his class yet some schools offered him as a TE or LB. Same with Cam Newton who UGA offered as a TE. I stand by what I've stated. Many schools recruited Jones as an H-Back and some at receiver. We were one of few schools who wanted him as a back, again because he fit the power run scheme Muschamp wanted to implement.

I'm hoping all this stuff about him jumping is bs. Why would he want to be anywhere else. Be the feature back for his hometown team. Would make no sense for him to leave with our depth chart.

UF getting trolled. Watch.

yea, I've seen this movie before. We're the ones getting trolled.

This movie's playing out differently. He's going to get locked up...don't see him going to UF, but rather FSU if that miracle happens.

Again, UF getting trolled. He rides with the U at the end of the day. He's a smart kid that knows he'll do well under Golden's last year, and the next coach that comes in (which, no matter who the **** it is will be an improvement) will make him that much better.

I ****ing hate Golden, and as ****ty of a coach as he is Duke STILL flourished. Can you imagine if we had another coach? Scarlett sees this too.
I guess Scarlett's recruiting for Florida is part of his elaborate troll of the Gators? :noidea:

And where's this coming from?

Bakas said he was recruiting cager to miami at the game

TJ Rahming (Duke Commit) was quoted saying that Scarlett was trying to get him to Florida with him at the Army game and apparently (according to TokenCane - who has direct connections to Cronkrite) Scarlett approached Cronkrite in trying to convince him to go to Florida with him. I hope not, but I've seen this too many times...we gettin trolled

i thing rahming might have confused the jordan's

Scarlett told many kids his intention at the game. He is planning on UF but is still going to take the FSU visit because Johnny Frasier told the group of RBs at the game he's not solid to them and Scarlett has always liked FSU.

All the RBs at the game discussed with each other their plans and talk of joining up. Rahming spent a lot of time with both Jordan's so I wouldn't be surprised he was mentioned as joining up.
