Rosier...say what you will

It's not about Greentree and all the coach speak...it's about 9/02 in Dallas when i can see with my own eyes what the coaches have been hiding with all the close practices and scrimmages. All those who are for and against #12 leading the offense will finally get to witness for themselves and all the "you 're wrong, im right" bs can be settled

Agreed. But I’d prefer the majority of his improvement come in accuracy as we’ll field top athletes at every skill position possible this season. Getting the ball out quickly, decisively, and accurately will allow those players opportunities to get YAC which will go a long way to improving our overall offensive stats. I’m not against him pulling the ball in and rushing, but I’d prefer he looks for targets first and foremost before doing so. There’s also the heightened risk of injury if he’s running more this year than last year, although he seems to be a pretty tough cookie. If he can get that accuracy % up into the 60’s consistently game over game, then this offense will be firing on all cylinders and extremely difficult to stop.

This. His running ability is a nice addition and it helped a lot last season, but his passing is what really needs to improve. Not to mention that better passing will loosen up the D for the run- both for Rosier and the backs. Better running from him might help coverage, but if he can't hit the receivers that won't matter much.

10 in row, number 2 ranking, 1st acc title game—- he is already best QB since Ken. (I am reaching to put him over Berlin but he did have a lot of 1st round picks and the OB)
This ! . With the FSU and GT wins last season he already is the best QB since Berlin( he is not better then Berlin in his senior season which was really good) . I know that doesn't say a ton but he actually had us in the top 5 as late as the last week in November . That is a legit QB. The Pitt loss shouldn't of happened but both Clemson and Wisconsin were better teams so I can't hold those losses against him. Also our best WR and TE missed those games so he didn't have much to work with.

Like I said, I’m reaching a little to take him over Berlin. Two things, Berlin had one heck of a team, that said, he would be better suited to tadays offense. Boy was natural shotgun QB.

By that rationale, Ken Dorsey is far superior to Jim Kelly, just because he happened to be on superior teams leading to a higher winning percentage. There are a lot of good QBs that don't win as many games, compared to some guys who happen to be along for the ride. Jalen Hurts can't complete a forward pass, is he better than the productive guys who happened to NOT play at Alabama? Miami spent a large majority of last year winning in spite of having a QB that was mediocre at best for a majority of the season. Think that over. Do you realize how bad Rosier was in regards to delivering the football? A lot of these "Epic" comebacks fans salivate over shouldn't have come down to that, because a competent QB would have been further ahead. Look at the FSU game as an example of that phenomenon. Miami should have crushed FSU, especially looking at how bad the Seminole offense was that day. Miami won despite being a one dimensional offensive team for most of the season. When you have an opportunistic defense, that works, that is until eventually the walls cave in. That's exactly what happened at the end of the season. Miami had some injuries, and Rosier's luck finally ran out. You can't consistently miss passes, be a one read QB and expect to win games on a regular basis.

We're all hoping that Rosier becomes a 60% passer, but someone that was consistently completing less than 50% of his passes most likely isn't going to get that much better in one offseason. The best one can hope for is that eventually, a better passer comes along and pushes Rosier out of the picture. If that doesn't happen, expect a lot of Travis, Lorenzo and DeeJay.

Hey, Jim and Vinny were clearly our best QBs. Jim got hurt and blew his chance to win title; Vinny just blew both his with unbelievable talent around him. Ken had great talent around him and the opportunity. He won one, got cheated out of second and shot at third. Jim gave us our start. Ken bought us back from the dead. Rosier might have just done the same thing. Four other guys were kind of good two — Bernie, Gino, Steve and Dennis. Say whatever you want but the is The U and NCs are all that matter, so pick whichever one of the five guys who won one and I’m fine, but Rosier got us the closest since Ken so for me that makes him the best since him. If he win title this year we can return to fight over if he is best ever. For me, that would be six way tie but Steve has always been my favorite.

First Berrios was such a fckn beast last year....

And ppl can knock Rosier all day but when he’s on he throws as good a ball as anybody.

Some of those throws takes nuts to make, can’t be scared to throw an interception to win big games.

Man, BB was a stud last year. I wonder who is going to replace his crisp route running.

Most of those throws looked very good mechanically. Hopefully, Rosier can improve this year on being consistent mechanically. If he does, then I expect the completion percentage to go up.
Imo receivers come and go every year. The production gets replaced regardless

Fixed it for you
I rewatched the Wisconsin game again and I tell you what...3 of those TD grabs by them were ****ing lucky. They SHOULD have been batted down or intercepted if our CB's/Safety turned their head. I can almost bet that film from that game has been used over and over by Rumph. It could have easily been a blow out.

I remember many of our past QB's mentioning how they studying film. I may be mistaken but it seems I remember reading that Rozier was not so inclined...I do remember seeing where Williams loves to watch film...In reading that Rozier says he is seeing more of the field perhaps he has begun studying film????

A key thing to remember is that Rosier does not need to make a massive improvement over last year. He just needs to show a typical improvement seen from a typical second year starter.

If he can keep his interceptions below 8 or 9 (had 14 last year) and get his completion percentage up to about 58-59% (was at 54% last year) then Im confident this team will compete for a playoff spot.

Keep in mind Rosier had a 131.1 QB rating last year.

He was on the way to having a historical season as a Miami qb the way he started off the first 7 games, he faltered in most of the last 6 games for sure but he’s not some terrible qb imo. As you said if he gets the regular progression from a 2nd year starter at the position it should do wonders for him

We will see if it really was the shoulder injury that caused the decline the last 6 games or not soon!

Richt has mentioned on several occasions that Rosier is very accurate when he has a good pocket. I really believe the key to our season is the OL and they've been getting good reviews since fall camp starts.
