Newsflash: Brady missed a short pass during today's Patriots practice...shockingly he wasn't cut.
2nd day of practice?Delete this thread.....embarrassing
. But it sure looks like it doesn't it?I don't think it's easy simply because I think Richt is going with Rosier for no reason other than age and the fact he started last season. No joke that is honestly the only reason I think Rosier is starting - because he's a RS SR and the others are freshman.
I agree to some extent but here is the problem. We have seen other videos of him doing the same thing in the spring. We have also seen him do that in games.
You can agree or disagree, the point was that the guy that put out the tweet says it’s not a big deal, that It was his first practice throw. But yet we have now and 11 pages blowing this up.
Typical CIS overreaction by a bunch of sky is falling hormonal females.
The only thing that counts is how the rest of the practices go - we’re talking literally hundreds if not thousands of throws, and then the season.
And there’s actually still a quarterback competition no matter what Rich says. If somebody blows Malik out of the water in terms of camp performance, overtakes him, then that’s that.
All of the other quarterbacks have a chance to unseat this “inaccurate” QB...if they can’t, if they can’t learn a basic offense, read a basic defense, learn how to make the right decisions, and outperform an “inaccurate” quarterback, then that’s on them.
stop making excuses
how is that a difficult throw with no one around you but air for a division 1 quarterback
If only the offensive line would have blocked better on that practice rep, he would have hit the receiver in the numbers.
In all seriousness, nobody should be surprised to see this sort of thing. Inaccurate passers don't just all of the sudden become accurate. We are still going to see our share of frustratingly inaccurate passes but it doesn't mean the offense can't be successful. There's plenty that can be done to mask these issues. I'd love for Richt to employ some of Sonny Cumbie's tactics with Rosier. TCU played with Kenny Hill as their starter last year, a player markedly similar to Malik Rosier from their height, their build, their athletic ability and their poor throwing mechanics that lead to inaccurate passes. Instead of asking Hill to complete too many of the standard route tree passes, Cumbie ran a ridiculous amount of screen passes. Bubbles, middle screens, WR screens, RB screens, motion swing passes and a ton of shovel option stuff. They ran a ton of zone read stuff and a bunch of designed QB draws. The TCU offense averaged over 33ppg and 420 ypg of offense with very little star talent at the skill positions.
Now Hill is a better pure passer than Rosier but he was still flawed in that department. He went from 61% with a 17/13 TD INT ratio in 2016 to 67% 23/8 as a senior in 2017.
Great points...in your honest opinion, do you think that maybe CMR is being stubborn. Maybe others are outperforming him in practice but CMR is sticking with the guy whose most familiar with his system. As much as i bash #12, i do feel that he should start vs LSU w/out a doubt. The issue would be, if he struggles does CMR pull the trigger or not. I don't think he does and #12 remains the starter throughout the season, that makes this issue and cause for concern alarming. You can agree or disagree, the point was that the guy that put out the tweet says it’s not a big deal, that It was his first practice throw. Thanks for sharing your thoughts..I have no idea what’s happening in practice other than what is reported here and in the media, they are only allowed to watch limited minutes of practice.
Part of performing as a quarterback is being able to execute the right plays i.e., implement the system, make the right reads, throw to the right receiver, during the game, or scrimmages..
If you’re not making the right reads as a quarterback and making the right throws, you’re not outperforming anybody.
The QB that performs the best overall, which is a combination of physical performance and mental performance,ie, understanding the offense and running it, is the one that plays.
You could have all the talent in the world, but if you’re not making the right reads, you don’t see that safety sliding over, you don’t see that linebacker backing up, you throw to the wrong spot on the field, guess what you have: lots of interceptions and chaos.
You can’t dumb down the offense so much that you turn it into a sandlot game. There has to be a game plan.
Everybody has their shot to complete both in a mental and physical aspect. Why the other guys are not overtaking Rosier, despite some of his limitations, is because they haven’t put it all together YET. Simple as that.
As August progresses, they’ll all get better over time.
Rosier said himself in an interview today that the guy’s behind him were getting better and will soon be ready to take over if they need to (I’m paraphrasing)
No, people don't argue that the playbook is limited because of Rosier, they argue it's because of Richt. Like if somebody called better plays, Rosier and the OL would be more consistent. The problem is that people assume everything else is exactly as they believe it to be and the only reason their brilliant plan isn't being put into action is that Richt just doesn't know enough about football.
I hope he makes a few of these ***** actually summon the nerve to follow through. He’s gonna make us want to shoot oursleves again.
