Hilarious take we've seen all weekend from the disgruntled.
Miami had TVD throwing to Rambo and a much-improved Harley last fall. Those two combined for 11 catches for 197 yards in the 2021 match-up, while Restrepo had two grabs for 30 yards and a score.
That's 13 receptions for 227 yards and three touchdowns from three key guys on the field who weren't out there this year—while Van Dyke (who threw for 381 yards and those three touchdowns last year) missed the second half of this game, while his replacement fumbled and coughed up three interceptions—Garcia with HALF of Miami's eight turnovers, including a pick six, while his fumble gave the Blue Devils the ball at the 25-yard line.
Duke also had Gunnar Holmberg at quarterback (who threw for 148 yards and an interception), instead of the feisty Riley Leonard, who took Miami to school a week after he played great in a heartbreaking loss to North Carolina.
Any more brain-busters and reasons to comprehend why last year's 47-10 win at Duke has nothing to do with this year's 45-21 home loss to the Blue Devils?
Hmm, interesting. So you're making fun of Gunnar Holmbergs performance last year and touting Riley's this year. Yet Gunnar threw for more yards and had a better completion percentage compared to Riley this year.
Riley was better on the ground, that's it, because he sure as **** wasn't through the air. And ANYONE watching that game was yelling at the pre-snap defensive calls over and over when it was obvious Riley was running as Duke had telegraphed it all game. Yet Steele constantly had the wrong call. So that is on the players?
You than point to the production of Rambo, Harley and Restrepo who weren't out there in this game, who combined for 13 receptions, 227 yards and 3 touchdowns in last years game as if the production from our combined top three receivers was much different. Young, Ladson and Mallory combined for 11 catches, 203 yards and 3 touchdowns in this game.
And Miami was NOT scoring pre Van Dyke's injury. We had 7 on the board when he went out late in the 2nd.
