"This is my first time with adidas," he said. "When I was at Georgia and Nike - it's always like two years in advance for jerseys where a look gets decided on. When I came in I couldn't come in and just say `This is what I want.' Production was already too far down the road, retail too far down the road. I didn't have a lot of say on anything that happens this year. Now next year, the year after this, I have a lot to say about that. I have a little say this year but not a lot. Even if I wanted to change this, that or the other we wouldn't be able to do it."

Agreed, so I am not totally convinced these will be the uni's for here on out which is frustrating bc this gets old and amazing at how they can keep F-ing it up.

Also, this may be why Blake made the comment regarding special games. Are these just for special games or are we literally ditching what we have now for these the rest of this year? The Orange top will be for FSU and the WHite for ND and then back to feathers?

I was excited about a return to the older uniforms, thinking Richt might have had a hand in it. Now I have a very underwhelming feeling. I just want us to get a good, basic look and leave it alone.

Richt has been around Nike his whole career in coaching. However, I don't think he's saying he's displeased with the new jerseys, but rather he didn't have that much of a hand in this design. I love the new design...it take me back to when I first became a Cane in 87. I truly don't think Richt has a problem with the new designs...but I think he's implying that as time goes on, he'll have more of a say b/c he'll be apart of quality control.

Todays Recruits and PLayers want new an fresh designs that change regularly. Miami is going to be Addidas's version of Oregon and Under Armour's Maryland. So Adidas may sell retro retail jerseys, look for the game uni's that Miami uses to be more edgy as they should be.

Go Canes

Yeah, I love how our kids got pumped over the new designs Nike rolled out a few years back. Then they went out and played like crap in them. Maybe these kids need to be taught that bells and whistles don't win football games. Hard work does. Throw on a uniform they don't mind getting dirty and play football.

He gave the approval. So I'm sure he likes them. He wouldn't approve something he didn't like

Worst case scenario (aside from if you keep buying jerseys and they're "obsolete" 6 mos later) is that we have a guy in Rick that is pretty much demanding future input and seemingly has an appreciation for what most of us like. I'm fine with that as in the past it seems like the input was all done by the designers at Nike and Adidas. Blake was probably only worried if the checks would clear and Golden was well......Golden.

I'm hoping you're right.

I dig the old school unis because I'm almost 40 and it reminds me of a time when Miami was dominant. When I see them I instantly think of some of the all-time greats.

The younger kids want something new, breaking edge, unique. That's one of the reasons Oregon blew up a few years back. New breaking edge facilities and eye popping unis.

Ain't nothing exciting about Penn States pedophile white and pedophile blue jerseys or ND's blue and gold.

Exactly. He is just saying--they are what they are -I had little to no say in the look.

They played like crap in them b/c they had a crappy coach....see 58-0 in the new Adidas uniforms under the direction of that same crappy coach.

Couldn't agree more!!! Only older people want the classic jersey. It looks dated and goes with the theme that we're living in the past. I really think people want anything other than the current jersey. Adidas dropped the ball with that one. This is their way of trying to make people happy. Nike has done a good job making the classic jersey's look fresh.
