Todays Recruits and PLayers want new an fresh designs that change regularly. Miami is going to be Addidas's version of Oregon and Under Armour's Maryland. So Adidas may sell retro retail jerseys, look for the game uni's that Miami uses to be more edgy as they should be.

Yeah, I love how our kids got pumped over the new designs Nike rolled out a few years back. Then they went out and played like crap in them. Maybe these kids need to be taught that bells and whistles don't win football games. Hard work does. Throw on a uniform they don't mind getting dirty and play football.

They played like crap in them b/c they had a crappy coach....see 58-0 in the new Adidas uniforms under the direction of that same crappy coach.

Point is uniforms don't win games. Hard work and proper coaching does.

All the recruits care about is pimp my jersey neon threads. Oregon and Maryland have the top 2 recruiting classes every year, and the teams with a more traditional approach to football apparel can never break into the top 5.

I'd like to see us wear an actual ibis to be really edgy. Or if the admin isn't too politically correct, we can don uniforms that look like they've been through an actual hurricane. They can be tattered and torn like homeless clothes like the Yeezy collection.

Couldn't agree more!!! Only older people want the classic jersey. It looks dated and goes with the theme that we're living in the past. I really think people want anything other than the current jersey. Adidas dropped the ball with that one. This is their way of trying to make people happy. Nike has done a good job making the classic jersey's look fresh.

Everyone knows I'm a big Nike guy, and you're right, Nike has done a good job w/ freshening classic looks, however, Bama, PSU, and OSU jerseys haven't changed much. Neither has Michigan. Classic looks are still in. I think everyone pays too much attention to Oregon and forget that three off the top schools haven't changed their looks much. I like the new unis, and I think the player versions will look a lot better. What Adidas has given us thus far has been crap, but they finally did something right.

They're are certain designs and colors and fonts Adidas can't do b/c Nike has patents on certain design looks for programs, even when that program is no longer under their sponsorship. These designs are pre Nike, so I'm rolling with it.

I don't like Adidas products, that's including the Yeezy's, but I give them credit for listening to us. Yes, I love the 2000-2002 look, and also was a big fan of 2014, but old school I love and I'm a young(ER) guy.

Now if we can just get Ibis w a pipe and scar, I would be in accute nostalgia.

Am I the only one who didn't understand his response?

I keep saying it, but just give me a green alternate, a U on the collar, and our current lettering and these jerseys are pretty good! That said, my favorite Canes jerseys are the 00-03 ones, the late 90s ones with EJ, and the 04-06 ones, in that order! I'm a young guy who has been watching since 1998.

The threads have been a big part of not only recruiting, as mentioned, but in all honesty, also of all the title wins for Maryland and Oregon.

Hopefully, we will really push the envelope. Basic uniforms are for suckers like Alabama, OSU, Clemson and their ilk.

Is there any reason that we want CMR involved with uni design? For all we know, he want all orange unis with white shoes and green helmets that have an ibis on them.

Yeah, that's what Bama has the #1 class every year...

Am I the only one who didn't understand his response?

Clearly not. But what I took from his statement that in the future he'll have his hands in every aspect of the uniforms. From the socks, to the under shirts to the cut of the uniforms. If there is a "U" on the pants he'll be the one to approve of its placement.

Look at Oregon's and Maryland's recruiting classes for the last 5 years. That'll put end to your theory.

That makes sense and I agree.

Well he said "even if I wanted to..." Seems to imply there's not much he would change.

look you all can complain all you want but, you here about kids getting excited about new Uni's or special game uni's all the time! an every school switches things up hence why we have throw back uni's.

Miami was one of the first schools to start the multiple combination uni look, so why are you all forgetting about that.

I find this notion of catering to the whims of 18 and 19 year old's laughable. Oregon won because they starting buying better players. Not because they wear terrible looking uniforms that change every week. What has Oregon done the past few seasons? Basically they are just another program right now hoping to get back into the mix.

Winning and coaching and having good facilities matter. Uniforms matter, no doubt but to suggest we have to ask the kids what they like is a joke. I remember seeing how jacked up our team was at the unveiling in 2014. I didn't like 3 of the 4 combinations, but the players loved them so I was told to just be quiet. Then after a tough loss to FSU, they layed down and tanked for a 6-7 record. That shows how much the look really matters. It doesn't make you win.
