Richt on the WR speed

The haters on here love the opportunity to pile on and criticize our players. We are actually going to be really good at WR this year.

Then again, this is the same group of people who guaranteed we would finish 4-8 after the Cincy game last season, so perspective isn't really their thing.

Coley, Cager, Berrios, Bruce, Mullins, Richards, Njoku - if you think that is a slow, untalented group, I really can't help you

You're one of the biggest idiots on this board, hard to believe you are a attorney.

Is it really? I don't find it that hard to believe at all.

I think most people would agree you have to above average intelligence to get into law school. But I don't know what clown college awarded that guy a law degree.

I keep telling y'all Sam Bruce will start day 1 here. He's already better then Berrios and its not close. I would say Richards too but he has to add some muscle.

Richards should easily be big enough by the time he steps foot on campus. His frame should be able add 10lbs to reach 190 with no problem.
10 pounds of good weight ? No way Richards is 175 at most. Not saying he won't contribute but he's not as ready as Bruce. I think 3 years from now Richards will be the best out of the bunch.

What weight does a freshman WR have to be to help his team?

Never said he wouldn't help, I'm saying start

These WR will have to beat single coverage. None of them are Phillip Dorsett fast where you'll need to roll the safety over the top, however Coley will be faster than he's getting credit for and should routinely get behind defenses. The running game hopefully will create 1on1s for the WRs and passing game. We're gonna run to throw with PA pass. Route running will be important for WR. Otherwise, TEs will get plenty of work.

I think Richt is saying what he means. We have to upgrade our speed at WR. Nothing more complicated than that.

So why hasn't an offer been extended to the Muck speedster?

I don't try and decipher coach speak, not my thing. Perhaps it's a motivational ploy, a sign of things to come in recruiting, or the straight truth. Your guesses are as good as mine.

Exactly

Lol

Big Ten indeed

But but the wr's were killing the db's in that 10 second clip.

Another fail by the scouts

:oh_gif_kid::lebron.jpg: First thing I thought of when he said that. Glad we have a couple of fast guys coming in, need many more though. Golden screwed us at CB/WR.

Look at Phillip dorsett, he was a high 4.4 guy in highschool but at Miami he got extremely fast with proper training it happens all the time. Another example would be herb waters who ran a 4.7 in highschool and runs consistently a low 4.4 40

When Jimmy Johnson took over the UM program in 1984 he bemoaned the fact that the defense was not fast and athletic enough
for what he wanted to do....a defense that had a bunch of players that was good enough to win a national championship the
prior year under Schnell, and that had future NFL talent like Kevin ***an, Jerome Brown, Willie Broughton, Bennie Blades and
others.
I don't doubt Richt wants more speed on the team, especially at WR, but he is inheriting an offense that is very
similar to UGA in talent. We have better players at some positons, an UGA did in others.
Not sure this is a big deal.

Bruce runs a 4.54 which is fast but not blistering.

He ran that coming off an ankle injury and has gotten faster every year he has been in highschool.

The time is from the opening and he ran a 4.53 the previous year. He added strength which is good for someone his size. I am not saying he is slow but he isn't "blistering" fast either. Christopher Henderson has blistering speed.
