Richt on the WR speed

I don't remember all his blistering speed at WR at UGA. Now, he's getting commits from 4.9 forty guys here.

LOL at dudes setting up that excuse machine. There's enough talent at WR right now to win the ACC an 10 games.

Richt might have been criticizing the WRs for not putting enough effort into selling their routes and running hard. It's not like we have unbelievable speed at DB relative to our WRs.

A bit confused then....the 2 WR commits we have ran 4.89 and 4.99 at the Miami Opening. I'm not knocking either player, i'm just saying the comment is contradictory.
I've said this in the other thread but you need possession guys just as much as you need speed, the key is that you just have to get the right balance of both players.

Most likely Scott won't be in this class, can't have 166 lbs possession receivers running 4.8-4.9 forties.
I can see how you can say that but I don't think he ran that. Even on tape he looks like a low 4.7 imo but we have to go by that because it's a recorded time.

He ran a high 4.9, almost a 5.0 forty, at best he runs low 4.8 or high 4.7 without this supposed error running his 40. Regardless at 166 lbs that those aren't times of a big time possession receiver at the collegiate level.

But but but...when I said that our WR unit was pedestrian and "un-Miami-like" I was told by people in here that we were loaded with studs.

The last time we did S&C testing the results spoke volumes!

i never been big on Cager. i think our fresh will come in and push these guys out the way. Berrios will be ok as a possession wr, he looks like
he lost weight.

I think Coach making that statement was more directed at recruits, obviously those with speed. Just putting it out there where the goats can get it. Letting them know, yes you will be able to come in and play immediately. That statement was not only for receivers but also for corners.

I keep telling y'all Sam Bruce will start day 1 here. He's already better then Berrios and its not close. I would say Richards too but he has to add some muscle.

Richards should easily be big enough by the time he steps foot on campus. His frame should be able add 10lbs to reach 190 with no problem.
10 pounds of good weight ? No way Richards is 175 at most. Not saying he won't contribute but he's not as ready as Bruce. I think 3 years from now Richards will be the best out of the bunch.

What weight does a freshman WR have to be to help his team?

My mind is blown

Most on here think no matter who we recruit there better than everyone else. They get stuck watching only our hilights

You really ask that question?..Oh franchise... LOL

I wouldn't want that time from a te.

So why hasn't an offer been extended to the Muck speedster?

I don't try and decipher coach speak, not my thing. Perhaps it's a motivational ploy, a sign of things to come in recruiting, or the straight truth. Your guesses are as good as mine.

I don't neither, again though that's the recorded time but on tape he looks like a mid to low 4.7

He may just be trying to motivate the wr core. I doubt he'd say this out loud to the public unless he's just trying to motivate them.

After watching the video, we lack speed at the position. He didn't just say it once either.

Bruce and Mullins coming in will help, but I still think Mullins will make a switch over to defense if he doesn't get early playing time on offense.

The haters on here love the opportunity to pile on and criticize our players. We are actually going to be really good at WR this year.

Then again, this is the same group of people who guaranteed we would finish 4-8 after the Cincy game last season, so perspective isn't really their thing.

Coley, Cager, Berrios, Bruce, Mullins, Richards, Njoku - if you think that is a slow, untalented group, I really can't help you
Such a dumb post.

So when the head coach of the ******* team says it, the fans should just listen to random people like you that assure us everything will be fine?

The real ***** for all of our chest thumping, orange and green rainbow watchers is that Richt is an SEC guy coming in from the outside. He isn't mincing words. He's speaking the truth.

Too bad fans can't just point at the negative posters here to make themselves feel better.
