Richt on radio today

Just finished the interview. CMR said all the right things. Can't tell you where his head is at, personally. Joe Rose could've come a bit harder.
 
Richt is doing classic coach speak in my view, he knows his QB situation needs to be addressed and the next few weeks will give him time to at least sort it out a bit(I hope)
 
He also said they have to stay loyal to themselves. Malik shouldnt be given the start in any of the next 3 games. Put in one of the other 3 to start and if we get to the point put in someone else for some burn. Need to see the young guys in action not practice

Golden discovered plenty of diamonds in the rough type recruits.. but his "smartest guy in the room" approach filled up a roster full of JAGS who didn't belong here. Sometimes, kids don't have offers for a reason.

He had all offseason to sort it out. If he's been doing this for 30 years and still doesn't get it, he never will.

We all know who Rosier is. He's had 3 years to do better, yet here we are. Richt might be the problem.

I hope you’re right man. I’m not sure after he left the backup QB for one of the biggest games at home in Miami. Also his loyalty to Malik is gonna cost him if it doesn’t change. If we wanna hold on to the WR we have in Jeremiah Payton it would be nice to show the kid we have someone to get the ball to him and not stink up the place every game. Benching Richards was hella weak all because he expects more from the guy throwing him the ball which the coach should too. May have really screwed himself on the chance of getting MAR. This team with Rosier at QB even tho this is his last year will not appeal to top WRs (Haselwood) because it leaves too many unknowns. What if the next QB sucks too and a Richt has already shown so far how unwilling he is to make changes even if it costs the team.

I get what your saying but it has to be Kosi and Cade for NOT stepping up and looking ready during the fall...seriously, coaches see what we saw out of 12 last year. They begged either of them to step up. They spent all spring and summer talking them up. Neither stepped up and challenged 12.

Now, after what we say, Richt may not have a choice but to give one of them a chance but it would have been great if they earned that opportunity over the last month.

I am in your camp. Starting Rosier was the right move, premised on the assumption that Kosi and Cade didn't do enough to take the job over the summer.

It was baffling to me that Cade didn't start the 2nd half. I can only assume Cade is running 3rd, and had Kosi been active, the switch would've been made. Maybe he was reluctant after what happened in Pittsburgh last year.

I think the writing is on the wall. It sucks we had to take an L, but in a sense, its kinds like the beating Clemson gave us that got Golden fired. The Rosier era is over, IMO. We will see someone else at Toledo.
 
If Richt had an option at QB he would be playing, today. Perry is not working hard enough and is undisciplined. Weldon, a good backup and teammate. Williams is a true freshman and not ready. If you want to risk the season, play the freshmen. Bad idea in my opinion.

This sounds encouraging and shows that Rosier is in a short leash. Understandable that he does not want to start the young dudes vs LSU D. If we continue to see Perry /Weldon getting snaps against the scrubs over the next four games we might see them permenantly soon🙏🏻

Rosier should not play. I don’t care what he says. I don’t trust Richt in this regard at all.

Serious question. Do some people really expect a coach to walk out there and say: Look, 12, yeah, that fool trash and I know it. He can pack his bags now.....

Naw, a coach cannot do that. He will use words and phrases like examine film, look at the situation, and make a determination. EVERYTHING we have read this year and heard (remember the sit down with Holly Rowe and Maria Taylor) tells us Richt basically prayed Cade or Kosi would step up and force his hand to make the change. They could and did not. I'm all for giving the other guys a shot at this point but you have to be disappointed that the 'game' was rigged for them to ascend and neither could. Lets hope once they get some game action they do enough to force his hands then....

And no, I would not have thrown Jarren out there against LSU either. You want that kid to succeed long term.

How the **** was the game rigged for them when Richt didn't even give them a fair shot to win the job this year. It was never an open competition like he said it would be.

This is basically where I'm at. I made peace with the decision to start Rosier even though I had hoped that Perry or Weldon would win the job coming out of camp. And I was really surprised that Weldon did not get into the game Sunday night with as poorly as Rosier played. I can only surmise that Weldon simply hasn't adjusted to the speed of the game at this level and that Perry is the real #2 QB. Regardless, I've seen all I want or need to see from Malik Rosier. Time to turn the page and give one of the younger QB's a shot.
