Returning Players

The misunderstanding about positionless basketball is that for it to be successful, all 5 players need to be able to shoot, dribble, rebound and defend at a certain level.

In fairness, normally all 5 guys on the court are somewhere between 6'5 to 6'9 with enough athleticism to switch every screen as the team defense does not fall off.

With that being said, our roster does not say we are capable of playing positionless basketball and being successful.
That's true. However, we would get eviscerated on the glass with Walker playing at the 5, particularly against a team with size.

Anyone with a take on whether Wong's return will have any influence (negative or positive) on Bensley Joseph signing?

as it stands right now, this team will get utterly abused on the glass nightly. This is another bottom feeder acc squad if we don’t get in The portal for a big.

Not sure it has any influence. From what I've read, Joseph's issues relate to academics.
Gotta be harder to make it through Admissions and to keep up the grades at UM than at a school like WVU, UTEP, New Mexico State, etc.

The "go to" major for our team seems to be Sports Administration (Sam, McGusty, Wong, R Miller), with Walker and Gak going the Sociology route. Harlond still "Undecided."

oh you meant his Major... thought you meant his on the court play for a second, and was gonna thumbs up.
(yeah, I know he played with an injury so we gotta be nice. Get well Harlond!)

That’s been the story of Coach L’s career here. We hit gold one year with JG and Reggie. Other than that we had Tonya who was serviceable and relied solely on the guards to pick and roll teams to death. Unfortunately we haven’t been able to field a team with any complimentary pieces around the one or two good guards outside of 2013 and 2016.

Agreed. Coach L has struggled mightily to assemble a decent frontcourt For about 80% of the seasons he’s been head coach. This season looks to continue that trend.
