Reilly Gibbons to Stanford

This is what happens when there's negativism on our internet message boards. I can only wonder what sorcery Coach G practiced to get Wyche back on board.

Big blow.

Went from a great class to a very good one now.

Relatively speaking in a year where South Florida was loaded and a ton of ELITE talent got away? Sorry brother....it's a relative failure when you consider the amount of talent a coaching staff this bad needs to overcome their shortcomings on gameday.

Not even sarcasm though, Ridley and Becker tomorrow is going to be pretty sweet.

Even with some of the talent that got away I still thought it was a stellar class. We had the best OL class in the nation IMO but that took a hit. DT took a hit, RB took a hit.. Obviously the staff has failed somewhat on the elite talent but from top to bottom this class was great. It might not be the case anymore but I still liked what we was bringing in. That's just my opinion though.

Couldn't possibly disagree more.....this class is a huge disappointment.

Above average, good, or even very good classes aren't going to be anywhere near sufficient to allow us to overcome the coaching shortcomings of this staff.

**** Penn State.

You know what, you guys can get your licks in now, but the 2015 class is LOADED with OL and the top recruits are HEAVILY leaning Miami.

one positive is nick linder proved better than people thought at under armor and they kid didn't stand out at Semper Fedlis

One All Star game doesn't prove anything, kid can play good or bad it has no barring on his college future. Gibbons is the way better prospect.

He was only starting to scratch the surface of his potential. IIRC, he is a converted TE?

We had guys here claiming his upside was the highest of any OL recruit. This is a huge loss.

The audacity some of you have to call others mopes while claiming the University of Miami is incapable of competing with Stanford for recruits. If that isn't a "negative" view of our program then I dont know what is. Why doesnt Stanford have the #1 class every year? No D1 program in the country can compete with them in terms of academics. For that matter, why doesnt Harvard? Why does the University of Miami lose kids to FSU?

Yep, I thought McDermott was still highest upside but he was right up there with him. Thought they'd be our future tackles pretty quick. Sucks.

Kid can run a legit 4.7-4.8 laser time at 6'5 290 plus pounds.

I'm really not trying to be an ***, but man I have heard this for every single recruiting class since I started following. Only once, in 2008, did it actually happen and we still lost the biggest prize of all in PP (not to mention most of them never did anything here). 2014 was a banner year in South Florida; probably the best I have seen in 5 years, and we did pretty average. That's unacceptable. I don't see how it could be any different next year. This staff just does not have what they need to close on big time recruits down here in the quantity we need to become contenders. I don't think it's a stretch to be able to land 7 out of the top 10 kids in South Florida. We are 4/10 this year. 3/10 last year. 6/10 in 2012. That's just not gonna get it done in today's football world, especially when you see the names of the kids we missed on.
