Recruiting Rankings

Amazing we’re neck and neck in rankings with a Florida school that won 10 games despite some dudes being undervalued in our class. It’s june and we got over half of the class committed and a way better qb imo. And yes fck them I won’t be happy with a close win regardless of the reasons why it should be.

Personally I’d rather our class look how are storm 18 class looked in the summer of 2017 but this is a process. As long as the blue chip ratio ends up over 50% then it’s more than fine honestly this year.

What I don't understand is how do they ever get close to the 85 man roster taking only 17-18 a year? Are the cloning people?

Just doing the math 17 x 5 = 85, it's as if they redshirt everyone and no one leaves early for the draft. How is that even possible these days?
Theyd take more some cycles, but usually 2 out of every 4 years the class would be pretty small.

The reason why you can’t understand that is because it’s not true. First time they took fewer than 20 was 2017 - after they’d already won a chip.

PS - they took 29 last year. 15 3 stars.
Ok, what I said was taken a little too literally, they usually sat around 20-22, but the point was their numbers would typically be lower than most. Theyd usually go in that range 3 out of 4 years, then have one class that had like 30. My bad.

It’s a very good class so far if you consider it is a new, first time head coach and a 7-6 record last year. We have 19 commits in June. By rivals point system, this class is already tied for the fourth best class at Miami in the last 12 years. Not bad.

Fine, I guess, but that sort of neuters the whole "only reason why Clemson didn't average a top 10 class is because they only take 17 guys a year" argument.

Clemson was not a recruiting juggernaut until after dabo got his first ring... 7 or 8 (I think) years into his tenure. And I'm sure a lot of people up in south cackalack wanted to throw the baby out with the bath water after geno smith scored 9,000 points on him in that orange bowl. Just saying.

They did and in fact, they wanted Dabo gone bc he kept losing to SCAR.

Let’s see how the season pans out. How often have we been #1 - 5 to start the season & we falter? UF may experience the same thing.

Furthermore, just so we’re clear, we’re only 8th b/c of the amount of commits. Florida is 6th due to the amount of commits and blue chips in their class. They’re are at a 50/50 blue chip/commit ratio right now. We’re at a 36/64 blue chip/commit ratio right now. Some of our 3 stars will be bumped, and that will bump our rankings. I also feel some of UF’s 4star guys are borderline. They got two guys that can drop a star at any moment, and another guy who’s flip bait for UT or A&M.

At the end of the day, today don’t mean chit. Let’s see how this season pans out & we’ll see if we can close strong for the future.

There are a few obvious ones who are underrated though especially Elijah Roberts and Quentin Williams.

So said every college football fanbase about some of their recruits. Perhaps you're right and perhaps you're not. I would say that is a very biased opinion regardless and I've read a lot of posters saying things like what you said. What I have never read is posters following that up with player x and z are rated too high and should be dropped in the rankings.

Somewhere in this thread someone scoffed at the 20th or so ranking if you go by the overall player ranking. That is the way classes should be ranked. Total number of recruits should never be a factor, but instead base things on the quality of players they're getting.

Clemson is the perfect example of this. They have a great retention rate which limits their overall class size yearly. They have faired well in the class rankings department, but never at the top. Look at overall prospect rankings then and that's how you do what they've been doing.

Seems we're loading up, but we aren't getting the perceived talent that suggest rank 8th class. Quantity is over-represented in said rankings.

Some of our 3* recruits will get a bump up to a 4th as well. Also, like you mentioned, let the season play out as their WILL be attrition to the class. Some gonna fall off and then they'll, hopefully for your sake, be replaced by better prospects ranking wise. If Miami finishes in the 8-14 range, I think that's a great starting point especially if needs are met

The gaytors actually appear to have a strong DLine class committed. Maybe good at LB as well. Where they’re shîtting the bed is on the OL and at RB. I’m not certain how they’re looking at DB.
They had a crazy good oline class last cycle they picked up 4 4 stars along the oline but *****’em

Is this the thread that da Gaytor version of RVA uses for Canes Tears?
It feels like the same type of discussion about which of our players get bumps. The only difference is that they do it repeatedly. It’s not really a focus from our posters.

If it makes any of you feel better ESPN has us at 6, UF at 7 and FSU at 13. To me it’s all subjective. Wins and losses is what counts.
