Recap: Just Relax Bro, Canes Win 34-6

Coley makes those 2 grabs and the ref makes the correct call on Gus's td run fans are rejoicing.
3 plays made the difference between 600+ yards, 50+ points, 100's "we back" exultations, and this doom and gloom pallor hovering over Caneland.

This was our warmup game, nothing more and nothing less.
I'm glad we were inconsistent last night. With all the hype surrounding this team last night was a wake up call.
We need these guys on edge and knowing they have serious work to do to get where they want to be.

We were stuffed on the short yardage plays because of the blocking scheme on the first 4th down that was stopped UM callee a trap play pulling bunche from the LG spot and the reach block from the center didn't make it. You don't call a trap in short and 1 wth the line stacked. You call a ISO drive blocking play and bulldose the dline the **** out of there. Then in the 2nd stuff the oline didn't hold thier blocks long enough for fear of getting a holding play, it seems the oline just catchs and releases blocks rather then drive block at times. But I think Kehoe will get this corrected.

Zone blocking versus man blocking. Malcolm is 6'7 and 330 lbs playing guard in a zone blocking system. it goes back to yet another glaring error of team building from Randy where he hires zone blocking OCs and then proceeds to recruit mammoth OL who struggle in said system.

I am not a football guy, but one thing I noticed is that FAU had decent team speed, especially on defense. As fast as our WR's are, there was pretty good coverage on them.

One area of concern is special teams; we had one punt blocked and several more almost blocked, and we couldnt get a decent punt return.

You're right. FAU has some decent speed that will rival what we will see next week. What they didn't have was size which we will see next week.

Not only do they have speed, but they came to play. We gave them some momentum and piddle-****ed around enough to give them some hope. A lot of bad things happen when offenses, especially QB's start forcing the issue. Luckily Duke was there to bail Morris out.

Bunche is a turnstile at tackle. Gave up the only sack last night. He is much better suited for guard.

The OL short yardage worries are a little over the top. I saw plenty of push on the goalline where Gus the Bus couldn't get it in.
We don't have any prototypical short yardage backs so i expect to see us continue to struggle on 3rd & 2, etc.

Gus in a year or 2 will be animal though. Just needs to learn to stay LOW!

It's goldens job to find someone better. He's been here 3 years. In the end Bunche will be fine but this crying is hilarious.

I love Dorsett, kid isn't a returner though, and he might want to up his game because Herb is making plays and Coley showed some flashes despsite the drops.

Dorsett is fine as a returner. Don't understand those complaints. Not real concerned about the offense at this point. If coley catches those passes and Edwards doesn't get robbed by garbage officials the score is much worse.

3 Things I Got a Problem with!

1.Why in the **** does the D-Line have to scramble around to get set? Why can't guys just play right side or left side and leave them there! D'Nofrio plays a "in theory" defense- In theory this should happen and when it doesn't it was the kids fault. Our guys look lost too many times out there and its this stupid D'Norio defense.

2. Our O-Line is big but they play too upright and lack push. They also need to fire off the ball faster!

3. We need a more consistent offense. We are not methodical in matriculating the ball down field. Its 3 and out or a big play. Trash the wide receiver screen, we are the only team in football that can execute that play.

4. I know I said 3 and **** it! Forget all that **** I said previously. What we need are pro-caliber Offensive and Defensive Coordinators like we had when we were kicking *** and taking names. These guys are college coaches and nothing more. We can't be a ******* "on the job training" program!

It's not so much Dorsett, but I think we have added some dynamic return guys the last few years. Dorsett is solid, pretty reliable, but that's about it.

But return duties are no joke, not trying to downplay how hard it is. Not everyone is ready to do it out of the womb like Duke.

You can't tell me that Danny Dillard isn't a better back than Clements. Bless his heart, but Clements doesn't have it. Dillard should have been on the 3 deep. Crawford and now Edwards are clearly far better. Clements should be relegated to special teams. We got better ball carriers who deserve more touches and he is just in the way. Time to move on.
