Miami Hurricanes running back Mark Fletcher spoke ahead of Miami’s matchup against in-state rival the Florida State Seminoles. Check out everything he said down below:

On picking up yards after contact: I take a lot of pride in that, especially just trying to make the first man miss, keep your feet driving. And I pride that just into the work ethic and my big O-linemen continue to just push me, push them piles. So all credit to them, all credit to me.

On Javian Mallory and Jordan Lyle: Yes, I see both of them guys helping us, and they're both ready. Both extremely talented, and, you know, they bring something different. Both got that juice. So they can definitely and they definitely will help us.

On his status: I feel good. I'm ready to go.

On if he can takeaway stuff from the Louisville-FSU game: I feel like it's always some stuff you can take out of a game, good or bad, they're still, a great defense. They might have let a couple plays go, but shoot, a lot of them plays went their way, at the end of the day. We still just gotta continue to just continue to grind out, do our job and stay on our P's and Q's, and everything should work out for us.

On what feels different when playing FSU: Honestly, I feel like it's from way back, the alumni, and just the history of this game, hearing about it, especially being a Hurricane fan all your life, growing up watching these games, hearing my dad have stories about it, how he snuck in these games back when he was in college and stuff. So I just feel like it's just the history, and it's just such local teams just always had that back and forth. And the fact that I even get to play in it now is just a blessing. So it's a great feeling for me.

On his mindset heading into the game knowing that it might come down to the fourth quarter: Yeah, that's definitely what we're expecting. That’s what we train for, train for a dogfight. They’re gonna come in and they're gonna be ready. They're a great, great team. Great team. So we just gotta stay on point, continue to work and do our job.

On his message to recruits that are attending the game: If you're a dog, you're gonna come to Miami, and I'm just gonna leave it at that. If you're a dog, you come to Miami. If you're not a dog, God bless you.

On how fun it was to have two long drives against Clemson: Yeah, it was fun. It was extremely fun, and especially when the OC says that we're gonna run it and that we need you, and I feel like for any running back, that's exactly what you wanna hear, and it's just a blessing to just answer that call. So shout-out to my O-line, tight ends, and receivers, getting them people out the way for us.

On his mom traveling: Man, she loves it. She loves it. You know what I mean? She's the happiest person in the world right now.

On CharMar Brown: Yeah, no, he's still around, man. He's still around. He's in good spirits, and, you know, I love that he's around. It keeps us going. People get injured, tend to isolate yourself and tend to feel like, you know, I know for football players, sometimes you feel like you have no value, but nah, not here. He's still cared for, still loved for, and he's in great spirits. So I'm happy that I'm just able to see him around the building.
