agreed. i dont care where they went to school. we arent a bottom tier program. we can hire the best names out there for a coveted job. no more learn on the job training.
Exactly. Our last RB coach just got a job in the NFL. We have money. We have a legit shot at a title. We have a stacked RB room. As far as RB coach jobs in college, it’s as good a job as any program in the country.

Dukes RB coach actually left to join UF. So! Stuff Manny and Sumrall!
give it to me GIF

I’m not saying hire portis but his rbs produced in that one year. Tashard choice and Cadillac Williams didn’t have a ton of experience and guess where there first big jobs was at? Their Alma maters. Choice at gt and cadillac at auburn. They both are in the nfl now. I’m all for the best guy available but let’s not like if he was the guy he wouldn’t be able to do it
Note how you pointed to two exceptions to the rule, like that means anything. There's a reason why GT had to go that route, they aren't spending money like that, and Auburn is(and has been) poorly run for a very long time. Miami can afford better and Mario, for all his flaws is a competent program manager that demands excellence from his staff. RB Coach is a recruiting position, do you think Clinton Portis, someone who is famous for enjoying the nightlife would be happy spending most of his waking hours watching film or pressing the flesh at high schools?

Happy for him. He was great here. RB room performed well and he was a good recruiter. Should be a very intriguing job for someone - without knowing the full landscape, I'd argue we have the best RB in the country.

If Merritt and Woodiel are the only staff turnover over a natty runner-up season, that is as good as you're going to do.
We were just saying that about Woodiel only..lol…we might need to leave this topic alone
