I'd go B+/A-. It's a home run given the shape the program is in. He bring the exact offense most of us want to see, and had a top-10 offense this year at SMU. Wouldn't go A though since I'm not sure he'll be a greater recruiter or bring in a great OL coach.

Honestly this is similar to USC hiring Harrell. It definitely gave their offense an identity and they were much improved. Lashlee should be able to do that here.

HOWEVER, like USC, we have structural issues as a program and a HC who isn't qualified. Even with an improved offense I think our ceiling is 9-3, with 8-4 being more realistic

How about if I rate this stupid question about this hire and the other one nystateofmind as ZERO OF F MINUS. How can you rate the hire when the man hasn't coached a game for us? You simply can't. Who cares if the guy has religious posts on his twitter account. That's understandable because he was coaching at SMU. For your information nystateofmind it stands for Southern Methodist University but you can Smell My Underwear. PLEASE GIVE US ANOTHER DEEP WELL THOUGHT QUESTION.

I mean it checks all the buttons it's an A -/B+ until proven otherwise...again this is a win-win situation. If he's dope, we're going a minimum 10-2 (assuming Manny's defense stays remotely in the same stratosphere as previous year). If he sucks, then Manny is fired.
Checks all the buttons! Haha that's cute

No one in their right mind could go lower then a B . Best offensive mind we have had in 30 years and that isn't debatable as we have had so few even decent offensive minds .

It seems like the majority likes this hire and feel better going forward. Serious question, wasn't the majority happy with the Enos hire last yr too or am I trippin? Serious question tho.

A+ hire... you got a guy that had the 9th offense in college football with an avg of 41 ppg

Really depends if he gets to change some of the offensive staff, but I'll go with a low B.

I'll say B, which seems to cover the majority of votes so far.

Frankly I would have preferred someone younger and more of a gamble on greatness, someone with less of a resume. I don't care so much about results as brilliance. This comes across as overly standard...focusing on someone available who has mostly positive results running the type of offense that everyone seems desperate for.

I didn't pay any attention to SMU other than the bowl game. I do remember my impressions from the bowl game. There was a thread touting Lashlee here prior to the game. Then it got very quiet and inactive once FAU was dominating matters. But I remember being impressed that virtually nothing was run from empty sets. I despise empty sets. The play fakes were vastly different than Miami's recent history because they were followed by immediate snap throws. That probably stood out more than anything. We're going to need a quick trigger. Lashlee preferred to aim lots of those quick play action throws to 7 yard and stop type of routes.

Closer to the goal line he used more running backs. That was another glaring tendency that I viewed as a positive. It was very familiar from Auburn. We're going to need one of those block-only fullbacks like Chandler Cox, now with the Dolphins.

The aspects I did not like were the overboard reliance on trick plays, and tendency to throw short of the marker on third down. One of those trick plays essentially ended the game when FAU blew it up and returned for a touchdown.
