Radakovich informs staff he’s coming to Miami

We just took a sitting P5 athletic director from a school that has been in the title hunt for the last like 6 years. And we have people complaining. We might get a coach who has proven he can win at a high level in the P5. He is not perfect. But it’s the best we can get or will get
I don't think Mario is the best we can get. Like I've said, I'm fine with it but if we are spending 3m on an AD, we can surely pay for whoever outside of Saban/Riley/Swinney

Nunez said it was a **** show, reality is Big **** Dan was in the building
I bet in his eyes it actually was a ****show but that's probably only because he wasn't able to read who was really calling the shots here and he had the Epstein types in his ears and possibly a friendly Rudy Fernandez. Then apparently he decided to campaign a little too hard for the job "publicly" through idiot media members willing to act as conduits for propaganda and it all blew up in his face.

So normally I'd feel bad about disparaging a dude just trying to get a job he probably had zero chance of getting but this dude played his hand completely wrong and completely aggressively when he should've just slinked back to desert gracefully to prepare for that big cross country meet against San Jose State.

Valid points. I just don't see hiring a guy with an offense that you know will never win a national title in this day and age. GT had won a NC in 1990 so when he hired Johnson it was only 16 years later. Georgia is a pretty hot bed for recruiting as well so I don't see it is too much different than where Miami is now. It's been 20 years since our last NC. If he hired the Army HC, this place would go ape$hit and deservedly so.
I think you are severely underestimating the challenge that is the Georgia Tech job. For one, there are zero nonsense, liberal arts majors or really classes. In state, they are well less than second fiddle to Georgia and in the Atlanta area, Auburn, Bama, Tennessee, and a few others have more presence. Collins tried to do a whole rebrand of GT and is a good coach, and he is struggling.

While I agree. Sort of. It’s a crowded market. We’d have been head up against lsu usc and then Oklahoma notre dame had we fired manure early. Add in ufag. Among a few other schools. I truly don’t know where we would have stood in the pecking order

Never thought Id see the day where Miami steals clemson AD and some fans still will find a Way to complain about him. Some of you mfs are absolutely nuts
At least with Luigi there are viable alternatives we can debate and it's an apples to apples discussion.

Who was the better or even equivalent option to Rad for us if we want to (insanely) debate his resume because I'm not doing it if it involves an "up and comer" AD from a G5 school or an Associate AD?

Waiting for this to be official…

im horny GIF

We know Rad is on his way to Miami because Zo wouldn't have basically congratulated him on Twitter if Rad didn't get the position. Zo was a candidate for the AD position, and Miami must have told Zo that they were going with Rad, hence Zo's public acknowledgment of Rad getting the position.
He didn't congratulate Rad. He said IF Miami gets him, it's a good hire.

I am setting the record straight. For $3MM, Mack has to at least listen. That is ~2x his salary. $3MM is an insane amount for an AD so we clearly have some serious power to choose among P5’s elite.

Don’t get be started on Dan and basketball. Please. He didn’t even hire Brad and…he is addicted to him.

My concern is that our process hasn’t changed. I wanted an AD who was competent, passionate and had autonomy.

With that autonomy they would use their knowledge and track record to select our HCs in football and basketball.

This guy doesn’t have that track record. I also would not be shocked if Dan is being forced to accept our next football HC with little say on this decision.

Yes, Dan may be a decent hire. Not that you said it but Don’t tell me you see some quality track record in picking HCs either.
You have no idea whether the search firm checked with Rhodes agent and he said not interested. You are talking clear out of your *** about this. There’s more than one qualified AD to do what we need.

Radakovich may work out, may not, but the exact same think could be said about Rhoades. How about instead of ****ing and moaning we recognize that the talk about putting money behind this is legit and they are for once actually giving us a fighting chance in modern athletics?

Mack may be happy at Baylor and no amount of money was going to make him move. People forget, that some people don't care that much. Never mind the fact that Mack may be into the religion thing and may feel comfortable at Baylor. Who knows?

The school makes a decent hire, and this fanbase still whines. I get that Rad has potential issues(His loyalty to Brad Brownell is weird, and I hope he realizes that Miami basketball can be a valuable commodity with younger leadership), but this is a quantum leap in regards to an AD. Let's stop looking gift horses in the mouth.
This guy whines about everything

There is so much more to a successful AD than hiring coaches. Not getting raped with scheduling like we have for the last decade is one. We shouldn’t have to schedule a home and home against the likes of Temple and App State. Having someone in that position that stands up for the department and is not just a yes man. Negotiating better branding deals. Some one mentioned that our facilities are fine but compare what Rad was able to build in 2017 to what we have and it’s night and day. We now have an AD that is respected throughout college football. One that was a finalist for the PAC-12 commissioner hire. This is light years ahead of what this department has been for a lone time.

You don’t know what you’re talking about. I have seen senior executives recruited with the understanding that they will take another soon-to-be-exec under their wing.

A lot of of older folks enjoy mentoring and sharing knowledge / experience. This isn’t a job at McDonald’s
You can tell a lot of these dudes never worked in corporate America. It’s common for senior executives to openly discuss the importance of succession planning.
