QB Workouts

OCCC don't play about those starting QB predictions lmao. Better not make one before opening week or he's checking you.

Not going to comment about the tweet part but this is not the only time JW worked with this trainer. He has worked with him numerous times over the past two weeks - sometimes alone, sometimes with other QBs like Emory Jones. Pics have been posted of the workouts by a few people.

It's been said by multiple people he is a very dedicated workout guy - really puts the time into working on his craft. It's just part of his work ethic.

This is one of the reasons he’s not a Kosi or Malik. Not only does he throw a great ball and have good mechanics , he has unreal work ethic. Then mix in being a playbook nerd like Dorsey.

I have no doubt he’s our future , and I’ve learned not to crown guys with our luck at the position. But I’m beyond confident in this kid. He has all the intangibles / “ it “ factor.

MR better walk the line , one more game like Pitt will be his last at UM.

Malik refining his game at this point in his career is like getting a chick un-pregnant... NOT going to happen. Good post.

Really?

You’re probably smarter than this. I would hope.

Whether he does or doesn’t improve remains to be seen. But to say that a young man who’s 21 or 22, and has only been a starter for one year can’t improve or refine his game, is just completely false. Even without the numerous examples that have been cited, just common sense alone says this is a pretty ridiculous statement.

Didn’t Rosier put on 10 pounds of bad weight throughout the season last year? Thought I read that somewhere.

Cmon man!!

No need to put out bad things you "think" you might have read about Rosier..............aren't there enough bad things out there about him already that really happened?

I really need to hear some good news about our QB situation so bad that it hurts.
  • Like CMR locked Malik in the film room and cannot find the key, or NKosi is taking supervitamins that have increased his weight, confidence and that he's also locked in the film room.
  • Or Williams is throwing 65yard strikes from the prone position, and has memorized the playbook so well he's coaching the coaches

I’d wait until about 2 weeks into summer practice.

Predictions are fun, I just think some people confuse predictions or wishful thinking with reality.

It’s how you lose money in the stock market. Thinking your fanciful predictions of the future are coming true without a lot of hard data.

Love how the QBs are not working out together...it's war...kill or be killed...survival of the fittest...well, sort of...

I don't think it's any big deal that guys are working out alone or with other kids at home. This is the short "off time" they have between exams and the beginning of Summer A and scheduled work outs. I am sure they were all happy for an unstructured break - whether they went home or not. Bottom line is it's on them to work out wherever they are.

Accuracy isn’t fixed in most cases , especially with Twenty three year old rs Sr’s.

So yeah, he can improve in some areas , but a very inaccurate qb won’t become accurate. He’s going to start but you know the hook will come a lot quicker this year.

Here’s a link on Mike Leach discussing accuracy , say what you will about him but he’s an innovator. Also one of the most respected qb guys you’ll ever find.

Harr de harr, matey

Pirate Leach saying you can’t cure a 17 year old from being inaccurate is more about him not wanting to bother, than whether it can actually be done or not.

Just because he’s an offensive innovator and is good at developing QBs that are already at a high level doesn’t mean he’s right about developing young QBs with accuracy problems.

People that give up that easily on barely post pubescent teenagers are just showing impatience, not any special predictive capabilities.

Anyway, it’s not a pertinent example. They’re not really comparable. You’re talking about one type of player, a very young recruit, vs another type of player, whose improvement needs to be incremental, as in increasing completion ratio by a few percentage points. Or who need to improve on a very specific aspect, like improving throwing mechanics while moving laterally.

Jesus the hate for Malik is never ending. Jarren has a picture doing some QB drills and the anti-Malik crowd start questioning what he’s doing like someone posted a pic of him with a beer in his hand at Rolling Loud! Smh

Lol it’s crazy how much this board hates on our QB that took us to our first ACC Championship that wasn’t supposed to ever play here.
