was supposed to win the heisman twice and get picked #1 overall......... he was never even invited to NY for the heisman finalist.
what point are you even trying to make? they won the pac 12 and herbert was the 6th overall pick - he did just fine

job isn't to get qb's drafted first overall, it's to win conference / national titles

Wrong.. He was a 3 star recruit. He had some decent seasons but his 2 with Mario had a way better td to int %

Coach’s job is to win…

Let’s talk about Fatburger. Skinny or fat fries

Sounds like Ward v Howard…. Thank God you didn’t include Ore ida frozen…then we’d be down a tier or two and looking to pivot to tater tots…

He's a Johnny Come Lately. Didn't give a **** about the program til 2017
Nah, he's always been a fan. His persona and the shtick of forcing Canes talk down the throat of a national audience just became more and more part of that show later on. Even as the Lebatardy element of that show will gladly pull a Billy Corben and **** on the program and school the moment it creates content too.

Cause he threw 200 more passes. Anyone can cherry pick stats to fit their narrative. Fewer ints per attempt is a better indicator that the QB is developing properly than whatever nonsense you are trying to spin here. His senior year he threw an interception 1% of the time.

We can chastise Mario for the abortion of the two seasons that were TVD, but there’s no substance to saying he ruined Herbert. It’s just not real.

he also won more games under mario, not sure that fits the narrative though that you're pushing
What people are conveniently glossing over about the Oregon situation and why Mario seemed to do much better there is really very simple.

Have you seen the thread that is about what Mario would need in order to be successful here? Anyway, the main point of that thread is that we would have to hire an assistant with head coaching experience that Mario could lean on to help him with all the game day decisions, management, offensive philosophy etc ...

The thing is that Mario had that at Oregon and his name was Joe Moorehead and he was Mario's OC. Whether or not people like or dislike Moorehead's offensive style is irrelevant. Moorehead served in the invaluable role of keeping Mario from getting in his own way and messing everything up. The problem is that Mario doesn't have that here. Mario is well aware that he needs an OC with HC experience to save him from himself. Why do you think that the OC searches always took forever? Why do you think that Jason Candle's name was always being mentioned as a candidate? Mario contacted many OCs with HC experience and more than a few current smaller school HCs to come and be his OC/Wet Nurse/Professional Hand Holder. Predictably nobody found the offer very appealing.
