There are at minimum 2 handfuls of schools in B1G+SEC combined that wouldn't sniff a P2 conference if it was 38 total teams (19 each) and was formed from scratch.... This is just obvious.

Has there ever been anything like this in American history? Does anyone have any comparisons? It’s quite incredible.

I know of the decades long fight to establish minimum wages and maximum weekday working hours; however, I can’t quite recall ever reading about a united front like this to suppress wages on such a large scale, even inflation adjusted for past times.

Obviously the ncaa is the ncaa etc but money went out in the open after the FBI / Supreme Court decisions and so forth …. Not talking about a union wanting more pay & power because that’s not close enough of an equivalent imo.

Yes right now everyone is blowing thru their caps. The settlement started the cap at 22% of athletic revenue / 20 million dollars adjusted for inflation for all students. And all the schools have zoomed past that, about three dozen of them zoomed past it with their football rosters alone.

But the actual PCSA enforces a hard cap via giving the college sports commission (the CSC) a greater deal of authority; and there’s some stuff about the ncaa can have the IRS being able to punish universities if they circumvent the cap.

So what I’m saying is, Alabama senators are so worried that they’re basically doing a version of legislative double jeopardy adding an amendment to a bill that already explicitly outlines, details, and enacts the contents of their own amendment.
