Program is done.

Problem is UM isn’t looking for that edgy young innovative buck. They want conservative and safe.

There are answers to our offensive woes out there. Guys who could flip this thing in a couple months.

We don’t want to go that route because the people who hire are scared of their image being tarnished by some brash coach who cares too much about something as beneath them as winning football games. They want to win enough to turn a profit; they’re not interested in trying to compete with the big boys.

We’re trying to fade an image that’s never going to fade. Thats why I dont get the conservative approach it’s dumb. Embrace who you are and use it your advantage. I’m tired of this schtick.

The mere fact that Miami cant get a spread offense guy in here from an established coaching tree with the sofla athletes that would thrive in said system is apocryphal....

It's possible to revive. But hardly a favorite. I don't think it will happen. Those of us old enough to remember and experience the pre-glory years probably have a better sense of that. It was a wonderful bolt out of nowhere. I savored every game and taped almost all of them, because I was sure it would be finite and not an ongoing birthright of dominance.

BTW, as I mentioned early in the season Alabama 2018 is a major threat to oust Miami 2001 as consensus best team ever. Last night's rout of LSU on the road merely added to that possibility, especially given how it compares to Canes 2001 struggles at Boston College and Virginia Tech. The sports media properly wants to elevate one of these Saban Alabama teams to best ever but none have qualified, given all the 1-loss teams including some with a home defeat. This Alabama team with offensive superiority will be given the nod if no games are competitive. We can argue NFL roster talent all we want. It will not carry the day.

IMO, Michigan is the most interesting obstacle, if they can get past Ohio State on the road, which is basically a coin flip game. Harbaugh has done a phenomenal job in pass defense throughout his tenure at Michigan. They led the nation in yards allowed per pass attempt in each of Harbaugh's first two seasons, then were 6th last season, and now lead the nation again. Only supreme dolts ignored that pivotal aspect and were claiming that Harbaugh was doing a poor job as coach. Pass defense dictates outcomes at highest level, as I've emphasized for decades. Harbaugh had a strange poor distribution in the close games, the worst I have ever seen for a team so dominant in that pass defense category. It would have been hilarious ignorance if Michigan had overreacted and pushed him out. The most brain dead fans were already condemning Harbaugh, and they'll do it again if he loses to Ohio State.

Harbaugh's pass defense vs. Tua is an extremely intriguing matchup. Georgia is talented but they had their chance last season. This year in anti revenge for Alabama would be more lopsided. Clemson troubled Alabama with a multi dimensional upperclassman at quarterback. I don't see a true freshman bothering them, although certainly Clemson is so talented they can't be discounted.

The purist will revolt if a spread guy is just a possibility

Yes I've come to that realization as well. Only thing that will have me to take another drink of "hope" is a quick and resolute firing and hiring of a professional and innovative HC/OC and a DC that can both coach and evaluate talent.

So Butch Davis with David Yost/Kendal Briles? How about an innovative OC with a HC/DC who can coach and evaluate talent? How's that grab you?

Our stellar recruiting class should help us bounce back from this year.

I never get this line. I see teams less talented than the U have success and be competitive all the time... 5 stars ain't the main ingredient. It's getting a innovative coach who can consistently get these kids to fight.. there are teams littered all they cfb who don't have the best talent but are having better than expected seasons due to pure coaching alone.

Exactly . I guess we need #1 ranked classes to beat the likes of BC Virginia and Duke .

Come springtime, I DON'T WANT TO HEAR THESE LIES about how this guy is doing very well and that guy is doing big things....Then in fall we will hear how excellent this guy is and all of the backups are tremendous effort guys. It's all LIES and GAME PLAYING, feeding you everything you want to hear. LIES,LIES and more LIES.
40 points a game.... three headed monster...
This team real good at talking up a good game

I didn't like the Richt hire from the minute it was announced but not even I thought he'd be this bad.

I knew he'd suck major rhinoceros **** as a play caller and game day coach.....but I thought he'd at least recruit well.

Staring at this class full of 3 stars that this dementia ridden ******* has put together really highlights the fact he's just collecting a paycheck. He's way beyond a bad coach, he's a God **** thief.

no BS, Goldy recruited better. Real talk.

Just accept the reality that Miami will never be back to greatness in our lifetimes unless we overhaul the entire athletic department and board members.

They are truly who has killed Miami and almost impossible to change.

I was thinking similar notions after the debacle in Thee Rock last night. Two consecutive BAD head coaching hires seriously DERAILED a once proud Miami Hurricane football program! And Cane fan is probably right. Miami probably will NEVER return to LEGITIMATE Top 10 status. Let alone Top 5 status. OUCH! In other words, it would probably take a 21st Century major college football MIRACLE for Miami to " become Miami, again. " And I highly doubt it will happen during the short era of the current head coach and his offensive assistants and special teams coach.

I don't see it happening. They will fire Richt in 3-5 years and then get another conservative coach.

An insightful college football " purist " would take these HS football ratings with a " grain of salt. " Simply because a lot of HS recruits are OVER RATED and a lot are UNDER RATED and what not. Of course, the TOP 5 classes of a particular college football team tend to be LEGITIMATE and what not.
For example, Miami has a Top 4 dual threat QB stuck in the mire sitting on the bench. Whereas Iowa St. has an UNKNOWN 3-Star QB currently leading his squad to FOUR CONSECUTIVE wins, and with a strong possibility of leading his squad to a " 8-4 " winning season- Maybe a bowl win, too.! This is a unknown small town THREE-STAR true freshmen QB!!!!!!!!! Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's the Big 12 and all that. So what!

This is why the program should be shuttered. The school’s administration will never do what's Necessary to win.
True. If the program cared about winning and innovation, Fake Blake would have said thanks but not thanks to Richt.
