This is all off the fun of last season. Coaches tend to go with what they remember, and even though there’s a ton of turnover, the Canes will receive plenty of love.

Apparently Miami is the only team that lost players.

The bias in the media and coaches is the belief that UGA, OSU, Oregon, ND just reload whereas UM just had singularly great players over the past 2 seasons; Ward, Bain, Cici, Mesidor, Bell, Scott. And therefore, UM is damaged more by the losses. And whereas I can understand that postion from 2005-2023, anyone who still believes that is living in the past.

OSU wishes it had Lightfoot, Blount and Scott. UGA tried to get Wilson back. Everyone wishes they had Cantwell but they forget that he may not even start at LT because of the more experienced 5 star.
What UM has achieved which the rest of CFB is about to learn is fantastic depth. And not just with P4 college players but depth with future pros.

OSU plays 6 pre-season but I doubt that team drops 4.
A&M plays 6 pre-season ranked teams( vs #5, #20, @#10,#11,#13,#25)
Texas plays 7 pre-season ranked teams (vs #1,#9, #10, @#8, #11,#20, #25) - this would be the easier pick even with them being loaded. They find ways to choke.
OU plays 6 pre-season ranked teams (vs #5,#8,#9 @#3,#16,#25) - Mateer needs to be back to pre-injury throwing. Lost 3 top performers on D and 2 top targets on O.

Maybe there are still those out there who aren't completely sold on him as a more complete game day coach consistently moving forward. I think if he makes another run this year he will start getting the benefit of the doubt. Although-none of this means crap unless you are betting on the games.

I think it might be because we have a new qb. The top 5 all are returning their qb and indiana at 6 has a new qb too
