Preseason AP Poll Out - Canes Ranked #7

UGA's major advantage at the lines still exist. While OU's D-Line can absolutely hang with UGA and give them issues, I still believe, UGA's offense can muster enough points against Oklahoma. On the flip side, the advantage UGA has at defensive vs. OU's offense is overall greater.

I could easily see UGA winning a 24-13 type of game and don't forget, they play OU in Athens.
We shall see, but I dont see that same advantage along the lines you do, especially when it comes to rushing the passer. Stopping the run, sure but not rushing the passer. I also think OU's DL is beastly and they have the only DT duo that is on the level of Scott and Moten. Im just really high on OU in general.

I don’t want to be ranked #7 until we prove we can stay…

Man, feels like we have come a long way since those days. 🤣
Amazing

Also I think they treat us how we should be treated in some ways

I mean yes of course I think we are underrated and teams like Oregon are overrated

Still we’ve only played well for a small stretch of games since Mario has been here. We aren’t that far removed from SMU

So while we did change a lot of narratives last year I think it’s just natural skepticism until we can keep it going

I still firmly think everyone involved in making these decisions wants us to prove we are back and consistent because we dominate ratings

I'm also very high on OU's Defense but their offense IMO may not elevate to a level in which they can give UGA's Defense or a defense of that caliber, problems. We'll see how they perform vs. Michigan.

Week 2 -

The AP was a lot more responsive last year.

If this is what we’re getting, the only way we will move up is for other people above us to lose. Which will happen.

I guess last seasons finish has no impact anymore unless you are Ohio State.

My top 10:

1 - Miami
2 - LSU
3 - Indiana
4 - Ohio State
5 - Georgia
6 - Texas
7 - Notre Dame
8 - Ole Miss
9 - Oklahoma
10 - USC

List of complaints:
- Theres certain teams and coaches that have proven they can win big games and are real contenders. Those teams are Ohio State. Georgia. Indiana. Miami. LSU (Lane effect). Texas, Oregon, Notre Dame, Alabama HAVE PROVEN NOTHING.
- How do you have a BIG team ranked higher than Indiana right now. Until further notice, you have to go through Cignetti to be the best in the BIG.
- Same thing in the SEC with Georgia. Ole miss did better last year, but they lost their coach so a drop is legitimate.
- Notre Dame was not in the playoffs last year. They looked like ****. They lost their offensive firepower. I would put the house on LSU beating them if they played this week.

Like I get Stanford is a bad P4 team and was missing players, but it is funny listening to people downplay the performance of the team/Mensah/Toney because of that when **** near every other team in the top 25 played absolute dog**** G6/FCS teams.

They were plenty responsive to Oregon's close call and moved 2-6 up one until they got to us. The bias will never end.
