Respectfully, IMO, there is zero reason to shirt Emory. The more game time he gets the better. We need him good enough to start next season even if we find an elite QB in the portal again. The last thing we need is to go into 2025 without a fallback plan on roster. It's got to be one of him or Poff, and the loser of that battle is transferring. So the shirt doesn't help us.

NO - you bashed multiple CanesInsight Member’s opposing views and called them “Amateur Film Slueths” based on your opinion.

I read your statement saying “ He seems to love football, so I don’t mind if he sticks around”, but you also stated “He doesn’t have the ability to start at UM”. This is based AGAIN on your “Amateur Opinion”.

My point was strictly there is ZERO way you can judge him as a possible QB based on that film. EVERYBODY is hyping WARD (I am too).

The reality is when Ward was 18 he was at Incarnate Heart…. So STATING specifically Williams “DOES NOT HAVE IT” , as in potential starter is IGNORANT and bashing a kid who is 💯 CANE.

Lmao what????the guy i responded said that to me first wtf are u reading? I responded to one person and repeated the exact **** he said to me back to him. But you just ignored that and only saw what i said right? Yea right

And yea i stated my opinion that he i would love for him to stick around but he is not a miami caliber starting qb, its only amateur because yall disagree with it lmao.

I understand yall believe in his abilities but that doesn’t mean the people who dont are amateurs, and like i said before that way of thinking is amateur ****. And yes i can realize the situation he was put in, recognize it was difficult for a true freshman and still not think in his

And if you want to go back and watch ward at Incarnate he showed way better abilities than emory has at 18. Ward had the traits of a star qb even then so its not comparable.

People play the results too often with quarterbacks instead of analyzing how they played. They see a win against Clemson and keeping it close against FSU as quarterback achievement instead of team achievement.

The playbook was obviously watered down against Clemson. Which was the right call by the coaches and he did a good job of not hurting the team with turnovers. But some folks need to re watch the FSU game. 8 completions total. Out of 23 attempts. Half his yardage came on one play to Jacoby George that was thrown into double coverage and went threw two Seminole players’ hands. Yes, he was a freshman so i don’t expect perfection but his issues weren’t freshman mistakes. He wasn’t panicking and making bad reads or holding the ball too long or committing delay of game penalties. He was missing open targets. There were a lot of Malik Rosier looking passes in that game. If anything his poise and attitude were well beyond most freshmen. His flaws are physical.

Once again, I’m not at practice. I can only see what game footage is available and make assumptions based on what how the coaching staff handles him. I’m knocking the guy. He’s definitely got grit and composure which some quarterbacks never develop but he has a lot of improvement to make in terms of physical passing ability. I wouldn’t write him off but he shouldn’t have been relied upon last year and hopefully won’t be needed this year. Give him some mop up snaps, let him redshirt and revisit this next season.
