Y’all aren’t gonna wait for this to be official? Or is there already a statement out somewhere?
Both schools released a joint statement stating that it was talked about in dec and waiver was sent in Jan. Decision will Be soon. Unless ncaa steps in (they won’t), it’s happening
This was the brainchild of Larry Scott of the Pac12
Per Barry, with quotes from Blake, either date will be prime time. He also said there will be 3 spring games. One in Miami, Orlando and another yet to be determined, the first 2 will be open and possibly the 3rd as well. Also, neither may be considered a spring "game."They couldn't get the prime time slot on the 31st so they moved
The 150th anniversary is a big deal to ESPN & college football; also great for State of Florida etc. Can't see the NCAA not approving this; why would they not do so? There will be a lot of hype surrounding this game especially since UM & UFlop don't play each other very often. I personally think it's great but understand those who have already booked air fare. Best case scenario, try & speak with airline rep & plead your case (good luck). Surprised that this hasn't leaked out before now. I do think UM will grant refunds to those who have purchased tickets but can't attend on the 24th.

I can almost guarantee that the schools will offer refunds for people who want to cancel their ticket purchase.
Yes the article says exactly that.I’d imagine they’d move up the start date of fall camp. Pretty sure the ncaa mandates how much they can be practice before the season starts.
**** dude if u woulda posted this rumor back then, today you’d be celebrated as the goat insider!!!!Yep.
Heard about this 2 weeks ago.
UM and UF petitioning the NCAA to move the date. No real competition that day. ESPN would come to Orlando.
They couldn't get the prime time slot on the 31st so they moved
....and per the Canes ticket rep I spoke with this morning, if you've already maxed out your allotment [in my case 6], you won't be able to purchase anymore. I don't even think they know what they're doing right now.Yes, but the "Tier 1" people aren't going to ask for refunds, they are still going to re-sell on StubHub. Thus, the "good seats" won't be back up for grabs.
Why not?I’m curious if Miami and Florida have agreed to this. Or if their consent is even necessary. Having an off week so early and starting fall practice an extra week early do not seem advantageous
Yep. Articles can report that ESPN first presented the idea, but the real issue is that FCS/UM/UF knew we weren't going to get the prime-time slot with Bama-Duke and Auburn-Oregon on the same day.
