Pope

Wiggins is the worst with this. Dude just falls to the ground at any contact. I even saw him fall with no one around him on one of our late drives.

Wiggins is like a baby giraffe out there.

I saw the play you are referring to it was broke up by the corner on the sideline. He got by the cb with ease though...son just fell out..Even if pass would have gotten through he wouldnt have caught it.

Anyways, I liked The passion pope played with last night. He took over a series in the 3rd quarter when we were down and scored a touchdown.

yeah he had a bad drop where he lost focus but he made some great plays too and finished with 6 catches 97 yards and a td. He’s progressing as a player which is good to see. He gets consistently open. Starting to become a deep threat

That’s straight slurper talk. Pope didn’t high point the ball or anything special other than actually catch the football. He was wide open on the touchdown. The deep ball on the sideline fell right into his arms. He didn’t come back or jump for it to ensure it was a catch. The CB played the ball like it was Ivey in coverage. Anyone who watched Clemson or dare I say UF last night saw some big time catches. It pains me to say that but take off the rose colored glasses and it is plain as day. Grimes and Pitts made some spectacular catches on 50/50 balls. The dude Powell for Clemson made plays last night I haven’t seen a UM WR make since AR. Pope is a Junior and has NOT ONE broken tackle or even made someone miss with the ball in his hands. He goes down if someone flicks him.

Harley on the other hand has really stepped up the past couple games. He’s catching the ball, getting open, and finally making dudes miss and keeping his balance. Harley is playing like he wants it.

Now, the real story here is King. He dropped dimes all night long. He played like the guy we all hoped we were getting. NC State dared us to throw deep because King hasn’t made good deep throws yet. Well King looked better this past game than the two games I’ve watched Kyler Murray play this season.

The point is Pope is not a good WR. He made most of the plays you expect WRs to make. A perfectly thrown ball and the WR beating single coverage sometimes. He still dropped an easy catch for a first down. He had a chance for another 50/50 ball and couldn’t make the play. So even in his best game. Where he finally gets his first touchdown as a JUNIOR. He was still mediocre.

You fellas do not understand the definition of bust. while Pope has not lived up to his 5 star ranking, he has done enough this season to be excused from the bust category. A true bust never really sees the field. Call him average if you like, but he is not a bust.

He’s finding out after ignoring coaches and players whom surely ask him over the last couple YEARS what’s going on Pope your not finishing plays drops have increased?

Now he’s shedding his teenage mindset of I KNOW WHAT I’M DOING , feeding his selfish dirty pride holding on for dear life to PRIDE and sees the CRASH that ALWAYS follows PRIDE unfolding and is scared.

WELL it’s not a quick take a pill BOOM I’m a team player hero to ALL.

Like the Rocky movie he has to take it back step back to the years of ignorance and pure his mindset and download the King mindset he’s surly not accustomed too it’s alien to his teenage mind.

Good news his eyes are open and working to regroup and try to break people around him and try to get back on the road less traveled that King has been on and the FRUITS galore are spouting.

Pope has now realized he cannot wake up and be a King.

Pope can recover and be productive int business world .The NFL is gone due to PRIDE at least he’ll get a degree for the 60 hour a week work place of no remorse no free lunch world we’re all in.

Pope had it trashed it and now can move forward try to escape the “ WHAT HAVE I DONE” to MYSELF.

He’ll survive or be in my WIRE ROOM.

GOCANES

Man Fvck all that, stop being a ******* hater and give credit where it’s due. You acting like pope fvcked your b*tch and you being spiteful to the kid. He’s a cane at the end of the day and is progressing, quit hating

These are confidence building games for a kid like Pope. It’s all mental with him. He has skills. Harley is breaking out and if he can do it there is zero reason to believe Pope can’t. I am encouraged by what I’m seeing. And let’s also remember that he is playing out of position. He should be in the slot.

He’s a bust. If he were re-ranked he would be a mid to low three star. That’s the production and skills I’ve seen from him.

The only reason he plays here is because the coaching staff is obsessed with “experience” and not hurting guy’s feelings (especially with south Florida players). He wouldn’t be a significant contributor in most of the top ten teams.

You just contradicted yourself in the same post. A mid 3 Star is not a bust by definition. Try again. Teams like BYU are stacked with mid 3 stars.

Y’all always quick to write someone off, stfu and let people progress. Y’all did the same with Frierson and look now, he’s balling

No. Our WR are garbage, just that NC STate DB are even more garbage

Our WR dont come back for the ball, don’t fight for the ball, dont catch the ball w their hands but let the ball hit their chests
Every catch can't be with your hands everybody should know that.

The way some plays are designed put the WRs in the middle of traffic. When UM threw those screens to WRs, the receiver was often hemmed in by his own blockers. In most cases, the UM receiver had to squeeze through the tangle of blockers and defenders, usually in a narrow space along the sideline. Maybe it was poor defense by UM, but NCSU receivers seemed to have plenty of open area to run in before getting close to a defender.
I don't like those screens that we try to throw a couple times a game. I don't know what it is, but they always look awkward as ****, and rarely get more than 2-3 yards. Dennis Erickson used to run a similar play to Kevin Williams that looked and worked a lot better

I don’t understand why they don’t run more jet sweeps and plays right off the line and allow him to use his speed and quickness. Yet they do that with Harley, Wiggins and 12.

Right Kevin Williams, nit Lamar or Copeland, yet we do it with our tall linky wrs. I think if we do more of that give him more confidence!!

It’s funny how y’all go at pope when he’s producing and up until the last 2 games had been Miami best receiver but the talk is quieter for wiggins who has been worse and Payton(just as touted as pope) who looks lost out there for whatever reason

All WRs have been better that’s clear but god forbid a blade of grass is higher than another and they’re going down faster than you can blink an eye
Which is amazing given these are all south Florida kids, normally top end guys are tough!! Someone mentioned 3 weeks ago Harley falls on that last TD once he caught it!

Is that coaching allowing him to continue to play with those type of correctable habits?
