DMoney, you make some great points but Pope beats his guy 85 -percent of the time. Look at the BCC game. He always has to stop to comeback to the call mid stride which doesn’t work.

kaaya was coached by Jon Richt one year and departed for the pros.

I agree with you. Made a comment on this in the signing day post. We always say we sign the good kids and miss the divas. Then the good kids become divas when we start losing.

We don’t really know what these kids are until they get here, and even then, the culture flows top down.

Most definitely the culture flows top down. Kids need leadership and direction. We need to stop expecting these kids to overcome ineptitude, lack of leadership, and lack of direction. When they don't overcome that, then they are cancers or whatever we want to call them. It's just a bunch of bull.

You got grown men in here that will leave a job because they feel the head guy is a train wreck and the company is going down the tubes, but expect these kids to know how to overcome that isht. Until we have a coaching staff in place that knows what the **** they are doing, these kids will continue to fall short of their potential.

Love love love the analytics. You can’t measure everything and the intangibles matter a lot. But if you look at their athleticism, production, leadership, highlights and a full game or two, then get the skinny from their coaches, you’re going to get the right talent.

I get the feeling some of our coaches if not all still wing it. Sure, they go see the kid play, see his highlights, and meet the family. But they don’t seem methodical and disciplined about it. Otherwise you don’t get the OL we have where the most athletic kid is Scaife sitting in the mid 70s. Or kids like Flagg or Washington when kids like Hyppolite are asking for an offer.

On the positive side, I think all the other kids merit a Miami offer, and there are 16 studs with hopefully another (Moise) making it in by signing day.

DVD, Chaney, C Williams, TAC, Roberts are my Fav 5, and I think they’ll form the nucleus of both an offensive and defensive attack that will win is a lot of games if we can find a supporting cast of OL and DBs to not get gashed. I also think Restrepo will bring a lot of leadership to the team.

Great listen. Nice change of pace compared to the views of the “OMG they’re all studs” crowd.

Without significant coaching and philosophical changes to the offense, this will be another talented group wasted. OL recruiting is very concerning.

Defensively, this class should help maintain our top 20 defense tradition under Manny.

Overall, I’d like to see us sign a full class (with a few portal guys mixed in) and get the numbers right at OL/CB.

It's a lot harder when it's 6-8 as opposed to the 3-4 spots we should have still left available. Not having at least 1 more CB, LB and OL at this point puts us in a tough spot finding decent remaining HS talent and portal kids.

Remember when Manny said tough choices would have to be made in regards to who has a spot...more BS from him.

Agreed though. We may find 1 or 2 legit HS prospects but the rest we’ll be shopping the bargain bin for.
