Doubt Richards is going to be switching positions, he's our X WR. Think It's gunna be Cager playing Z.
Important distinction because it means Richards is always lined up opposite of the strong side of the formation, and the Z WR is the one that has the Slot next to him in 3 wide. We definitely want Richards at X imo.

We do Not need more DTs. We're already getting a grad transfer DT.
Had he been a DE, then I wouldn't be completely against it. But thats the only position I'd take another Transfer at.

We have 7 DTs on the roster. And when we go pass rush packages, one of them comes off the field. DE is the MUCH bigger need for depth players.
DT we are fine at.

3t: Willis > Bethel/Nesta > Martin
1t: Ford > Tito > Miller

We have a 3 deep. DE we are only 2 deep
SDE: Joe/Demetrius > Patchan
WDE: Joe/Garvin > Rousseau

FBS need a minimum of 8 DT's on the roster that can play. Martin is not ready to contribute so that drops the number 6. An nooo FBS counts on true freshman to shoulder the load of significant playing time.

An Willis is s tweaked knee away from being out for the season. Which leaves UM with 3 upperclassmen at DT. We need 1 more big body inside.

So you’re telling me that you’re fine with turning away a guy with 2 years of eligibility and leaving a 3 deep with 2 freshmen who probably won’t be physically ready til the middle of the season?

Yikes...

I agree that DE is a much bigger need, but that doesn't mean we couldn't benefit from another DT capable of helping right away. If we get another DT, it may allow Bethel to help at DE (if needed).

Yes. Its we are FINE this year with DT depth.
We will bring in another like 3, possibly even 4 DTs in the 2019 class. We will have good depth.

No, we’re not. We’re an injury away from from the depth being absolutely abysmal and the fact you’ll think it’s ok is the definition of lunacy.

If one get injured, we have 6. Thats still one more than ******* DE.
You guys are ridiculously scared of injury, you let it consume you.
we want 8 DTs on the roster at all times.. We have 7, thats not very ******* far off dude. I really don't know why yall are acting like DT depth is bad. Its solid. Once we get 3-4 2019 guys, our depth will be good. DT is not a major need at his point.

We already got one grad transfer DT, we do NOT need another. Its honestly ridiculous to suggest us getting another purely for the sake of doing it when we have a much bigger need at DE. If we are going to take Anyone to just be a depth body, it'll be there, not at DT.

Bodies doesn’t equate to depth...are you really that stupid?

This is worse to me. A 6’6 guy hiding in plain sight.

If he hits, it would be more of a bad evaluation than a hidden gem.

To be fair, his evaluations seemed to be all over the place. What would you say his weight is up to now? Just last August, we were still going back and forth on whether he could play DE full time. 6' 6" guys are f'in tough to judge because of how they fill in. https://www.canesinsight.com/threads/greg-rousseau-opening-week-highlights.121062/

I mentioned it on the podcast, the biggest surprise to me was his strength. You were right about him sticking at DE. I thought he was a stud (compared him to the third overall pick of the draft) but didn't expect him to compete right away as a down lineman. The exciting thing is that he hasn't even needed to display his ability to play in space, which I thought was the most interesting part of his game.

His weight is probably in the 230s but he is punching above his weight strength-wise.

A healthy Richards alone makes me want to party like the wolf. Really rooting for him to have some better fortune that allows him to show the nation who he is this year. He can impact the O more than any other player including qbs and rbs imo. A healthy Richards helps whoever starts at qb and opens up the field for the rbs.

And that is an amazing movie that will only become more appreciated with time.

Ivey is really impressive in terms of football IQ. Guys like that usually play early.

You know - Ed Reed was really, really smart and intuitive.

I almost thought he could see into the future - but it was intelligence, intuition, and reading offenses in a moment.

I wanna believe in J-Dean turning the corner, I really do. He looks the part. But some of the 'ball skills' he displayed last year was cringe-worthy. But hey, it's a new slate in 2018

I hear you on that.
I forgot which game that was where he judged the ball like a 10 year old fat kid.

The way i see it, Ball skills at corner are an added bonus. Just be able to lock guys down, deflect passes and make tackles.

Rumph was pretty good here and he rarely got INTs.

I am such a huge fan of Ivey! If not for his injury during his junior season., he would have been viewed as one of the top corners in the country coming into his senior year. To me, it's a similar situation to what Samuel Brooks is going through right now. Our staff not wavering on them due to injury, is paying off big time!
