Miami freshman running back Javian Mallory was named ACC Rookie of the Week for the second time this season, the conference announced Monday.

Mallory earned the honor after rushing for 108 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries in Miami’s 43-35 double-overtime victory over rival Florida State on Saturday night at Hard Rock Stadium.

The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native scored on a 3-yard run in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 21 before breaking free for a 25-yard touchdown on Miami’s first play of overtime. His performance helped Miami rush for 257 yards and three touchdowns in the victory as the Hurricanes improved to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in ACC play.

Mallory previously earned ACC Rookie of the Week honors on Sept. 14 after rushing for 142 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries in Miami’s 77-7 victory over Florida A&M.

The Hurricanes return to action Saturday when they host Pittsburgh at noon at Hard Rock Stadium.
