No questions the TE, RBs and Andre Johnson were explosive....but the rest of the skill players? You don't think our current may end up being comparable? I will wait and see.

That's fine, I disagree 100% but I hear you.

Homeboy is paying for all of this out of his own pocket, that's all I care about. Growing up I lived close enough to Tropical that I could walk there. His proposed plan would clean up A LOT of that public park without tapping into any taxpayer dollars. In return for hosting 6-7 games a year Tropical gets a face lift.

It makes a ton of sense and it's a perfect location. To each their own, but nobody can say this wouldn't be a GREAT thing for the football program.

I think if this is pitched as an expansion of the University Campus, with a stadium, it's infinitely more marketable and community-friendly than just focusing on the stadium alone.

When it comes to the stadium, i don’t get people who keep saying “our” and mock others condescendingly when referring to anything at Tropical Park.

So far there is zero indication this will be anything other than a County financed project voted on by the public. Can anyone show where Ruiz has actually offered to pay for this thing or we will go from being a tenant of the Dolphins and Stephen Ross to a tenant of Miami Dade county?

Being painted as “anti stadium“ for asking these basic questions is hilarious to me.

It sounds like he was alluding to LifeWallet not being the sole solution to UM’s financial needs and implying that our sports teams cannot compete with top programs if the sole financial benefactor is the Ruiz family. UM needs alternative income sources and HRS is not the answer. The financial demands created by NIL, the need for new facilities and other program investments require multiple revenue sources. LifeWallet is simply part of the solution.

It sounded like he was trying to educate anyone who thinks the Ruiz will provide a blank check in perpetuity.

In addition, the University of Miami is in agreement with Ruiz. TIFWIW but Mario, Rad and the university are in favor of this opportunity despite what some clowns think. It’s a no brainer.

if it gets done correctly, which i trust it would be given who is on our side to negotiate, i would agree except that i don't think it would materially increase attendance.

i too grew up next to the park (83rd ave). after it re-opened, i would say that are few if any people that played more basktetball at the park than me. rain or shine, i played just about every day until i grew up and went away to college. tons of great memories in many places there.

yes our stadium his money. Maybe an operational/ownership stake for miami? maybe he gets all miami live profits and goes 60-40% gameday revenue?
 
What do you all think about the traffic situation at the new stadium? Wouldn’t it be awful? (Not that it’s a reason not to build it)

It's all good bro! Those looked like Nike Killshots. They are a throwback 80s 90s sneaker. I was never really into shoes either until about 10 years ago.
