Having no speeeed at WR looks like whats gonna hold the team back right now. Nobody can make impact plays that scare a defense. Hope someone steps up but we need to recruit speed BAD. This is not how it should be at miami with regards to wr position.

Got to prove it on field and threaten DC/defenses to change how they react.. Brashard was my choice in breakout thread so I hope he can show that but only having 2 guys you can point to proves my point, this is miami.. We should be synonymous with most explosive teams in america. We need legit measureable game breaking speed, I dont really see that.. Do we have anyone with 10.5, 10.4 speed, or better?

Explosive plays is the name of the game from offensive college football, you need speed for that. We need to recruit and emphasize that more. We have no guys that could help the track team or even go out to get better.. We used to do that all the time. We need more SPEED

How many explosive WRs were on the 2001 team? Andre Johnson was one....who else?

Game was different then so less wr on field but Daryl jones was other WR, LMAOO.. You know how fast he was?! The ******* disrespect!

He is the most decorated crossover athlete ever at UM with five Big East track titles -- two in the 100 meters, two in the 4x100-meter relay and one in the 55 meters.

Jones also holds the UM football record for fastest 40-yard dash time at 4.3 seconds, tied with Santana Moss and Andre Johnson.

Is he faster than Moss? Depends on what kind of race. Moss is more explosive off the line, but as receivers coach Curtis Johnson says, "Daryl -- once he gets his speed up, it's over. You're not going to catch him."

Jones said that the last few years he couldn't catch Moss in the 60 meters but always won in 100s.

"Santana's better in the shorter stuff, in the 40, 50 meters," track coach Mike Ward said. "Daryl in the 100 meters, he's by far the top kid that's come through here."

Jones' speed helped him emerge as a top receiver. When he arrived in 1997 out of Dallas Carter High, one of the best and most prestigious football programs in Texas, Jones was pressed into playing early.

Also keep in mind, Like I said offenses were different, so our RB were explosive AF also, even our FB were! We had Najeh and Mcgahee at FB, lol.. McGahee played FB during Rose bowl.. Even at TE Shockey was a weapon. Like I said game was different but that was an explosive team and many guys ran track. Curtis Johnson encouraged it, Reggie Wayne talked about how he wasnt the fastest but Curtis encouraging him to go out helped him be better. WE havent really done that in recent years, I dont know why. Hopefully @DMoney can answer on podcast. Last guy was who? Dorsett?
