PLEASE STOP WITH THIS FABRICATED "TOUGH SCHEDULE" NARRATIVE

Some of y'all case building with that "toughest schedule in the nation" driven to try and buy excuses or Manolo. Stop it. Auburn's schedule blows Miami's out of the water regarding toughness:

@ Penn State (#10)
@ LSU
Georgia (#2)
@ Arkansas (#17)
Ole Miss (#10)
@ Texas A&M
Mississippi State (#17)
Alabama (#2)

The ACC is as collectively bad and wide open as it's been since the Canes joined the conference—and Miami is STILL praying for upsets to capture a second sorry-*** Coastal title.

This team is mediocre and Heisman-like efforts by Van Dyke the past three games have saved Diaz's sad gig and masked a brutally bad collective defensive effort.

Some of you citing wins over "7-2" teams like NC State and Pittsburgh—comparing to 7-2 Mississippi State or Texas A&M, as if it's apples to apples—SEC teams with SEC losses while, two average ACC teams lost two average football games. (Pittsburgh lost to Western Michigan and Miami—aTm lost to Arkansas and Mississippi State, while upsetting Alabama.) This really needs to be explained as different?

Miami is 3-6 right now without MVP-like efforts at quarterback—and Diaz is out of a job—which is why so many refuse to feast on sad, empty calorie wins and were "rooting" for the future these past few weeks, not short-sighted, meaningless and forgettable wins against sub-par ACC "talent".

Dead Manny Walking.
Everyone we play is tough. As Manny says, winning is hard. Lol

Dead Manny Walking.
Because that is what so many fans want...a Miami team that is 2-7, that fired Manny after NC State, and a Miami that has zero recruits at this point. A Miami that won’t get a new coach until after National Signing Day. A Miami that loses the bulk of their talented freshmen to the transfer portal. All this so the new coach can take over, and because he cannot magically take what is left over and win the ACC by year 2 will lead to fans calling for his dismissal that same year, this repeating the process.

College football is built on hope. Miami winning out gives the talented freshmen hope. It potentially keeps the class together. Miami can still move on after the season from Manny if they really want to, but can make a transition quickly as opposed to having months of other teams recruiting our current and potentially future players.

Our current class is ranked 61 with just 8 recruits. What exactly are we clinging to?

Two four star rated cornerbacks that we desperately need, plus a third CB who is 3 stars. We need talent and bodies in that position because of past recruiting failures. We need those three to stick and to get a transfer portal kid (or two).

What I am trying to say is that in the situation Miami is in, we're in a positive scenario. There's still hope in the program thanks to TVD. Miami could not only go 8-4, but could be in the ACC championship game as we would be simply out-scoring the opposition.

If Manny had been fired in October, that would have meant that TVD and the freshmen in offense couldn't get over the hump. There would have been a sense of desperation and collapse with the program, and it would have given other programs nearly two months to peel off those recruits. It would have given two months for SEC schools to recruit Leonard Taylor and James Williams and all of the other talented freshmen, without the prospect of hope, of winning out, of the current regime staying. Strategically, this is the worst possible outcome as it could set Miami back to a point lower than it has been since the 1970s.

As I said, if Miami still wants to part ways from CMD they can after the regular season is over. But they can do so without a two month long transition where the core of the Hurricane program is eviscerated. It doesn't matter if you get Mario or 1995 Butch Davis or 1985 Jimmy Johnson - if those coaches come in after ENSD with 50 players having graduated or transferred out - if Taylor, Williams (both of them), Kinchens, Brinson, George, TVD, Garcia, Arroyo, Knighton, Franklin, Smith, Brown and Seymore have all transferred...that coach is not winning the ACC before year 4.

It’s the CIS dynamic:
- CIS today: we cannot model ourselves after Michigan State and take 20 guys from the portal
- CIS tomorrow: ******* Michigan State did it, East Lansing, Michigan sucks, we’re ******* Miami, we should be able to get the best 40 guys from the portal if we want to, and we have the most logical fans.

Answer: fire Blake today. Win out. Part ways with Manny if you have Mario or another “home run” locked down at the most strategic time.

This program loves the CBs who maybe have 8-10 plays a game and forgets about the O-Line who have an impact every play. If we have better O-Line recruiting we protect TVD and don't leave those corners on an island more than need be.

Does it really matter how tough the schedule is when you lose to two of the worst teams on it?
