Players You Wish Were Canes

Lots of players that would've been nice - a few:

Reggie White, Lawrence Taylor, Bo Jackson, Dan Marino, Troy Aikman (Jimmy tried to get him a couple times), Deion Sanders, the '85 Bears defense (complete with Buddy Ryan), etc.

Plenty of others.

On the other hand, during our championship years, I wouldn't really change things. I liked it they way it was.

Don't know about the players I would've wanted but I know the coaches...

Pete Carroll and Mike Leach would've dominated college football in Miami
 
Dalvin Cook. Would have ourselves a neat little winning streak going against FSU if not for him
 
Since I'm ok, for the most part, with my Canes from '77 to '02.
Last 15 years (I'm assuming it's players that considered Miami):
With Cook, you can flip the '14, '15, and '16 FSU losses to W's.
OL, DL and QB were/are our positions of need.
QB would be Bridgewater.
Need a little help on stud line players that got away.
 
You are either with us or against us. You either all Cane or you are not. I don’t want anybody that’s not a Cane to be a Cane. When crootin is going on there a certain players that I would love to have but once they sign the dotted line and it’s not with us I’m done with them.

Funny, I was thinking about why he may not have been pursued just today:

- North Fort Myers guy. While I became a 'Cane fan in that area as a teen, a lot of guys were for the Gaytes or Semenholes.

- Sixth round draft pick by the KC Royals (declined to sign) wanted to play Baseball and Football...Jimmy and Ron not on the same page for that at Miami?

- Maybe just determined to be in the cheesiest "music" video of all time?



As for ones that got away...Amari Cooper. Then again, it's hard to beat the

You guessed it,, Steve Spurrier.
Back in 66, his senior season, he guaranteed a victory over the canes. Didn't get it, how about a rematch tomorrow, he said after the game..

Shaquill Griffin was offered by Miami, but we did not include Shaquem and they both wanted to go to Miami. Wish we had gotten both of them.

Dalvin Cook for me. Now that he’s here in Minnesota, I loved watching him until he went down with the injury. Easily my favorite player on the Vikings now to watch

Not to derail my own thread, but what are the Vikes going to do w Coley? He was balling in the pre-season

Before y'all neg this, hear me out: Tim Tebow.

1. Florida doesn't win two titles. That in and of itself is worth him not going there.
2. It'd be priceless to see how ESPN would reluctantly have covered us, given it'd fly in the face of their narrative of hating on the Canes. You can't suck off Tebow and hate his team at the same time. What would they have done?

I don’t follow the nfl or Vikings as much as I used to but from what I know, I believe he’s still on the roster. I think he’s a depth guy/special teams. We will have to see how he does this offseason into the preseason. Maybe a rotation spot will open up for him if the vikes let diggs go after this upcoming season
