I would be willing to bet Guidry tells his boys the same thing behind closed doors

We don’t even have a Jon Garvin type to just come in on a passing down and have one job

Bain is the biggest threat but he basically is having to do everything

Bain isn't a pass rush specialist yet he is a high motor guy that gets home. Hate that he is our biggest threat in yr1. Hopefully the blitz gets home Saturday.

He was out there last week I believe. Temple was weird because we were thin at DT that game and for sure could have used him.

Allen and Moten not playing against Temple had me scratching my balls.

Davonte not playing as much to me is the weirdest of all of them. Kelly and Harvey are just average players up to this point plain and simple.

Allen has to be in the doghouse because he looked really good the first few games.

Allen just got passed up. Parrish and Chaney became the clear 1-2 guys with Fletcher as the 3 when he was healthy.
 
Need way more out of the DEs and Kelly specifically

UNC would be a great game for him to show up

Maybe it’s scheme as we’ve been very stout against the run, but we need more Sacks especially against a guy like Drake Maye
 
Moten played on Saturday. I had high hopes for Kelly coming out of HS, he's been mediocre so far, still young though, so time to develop into a player. We could really use a reliable speed rusher.

I agree. Sacks can be a misleading stat from time to time. We had a ton last year but I don’t think anyone would say our front struck fear in anyone’s hearts

I know the scheme has the DEs dropping a lot as well

But watching the games you want to see a QB under duress. There can be pressure without filling a stat sheet and we need Maye to speed up his clock

IDK if anyone has noticed but Miami’s defense is ranked

#9 in total defense
#5 in first downs
#34 in passes intercepted
#42 in passing yards allowed
#1 in rush defense
#12 in scoring defense
#18 in team passing defense efficiency

Who cares who hasn’t been playing on defense especially freshman. The unit is getting it done.
