Pete Aziz, Glory, Nash, et al... Chidi Valentine-Okeke?

Sunny Odogwu is from same tribe as Okeke and hes good friends with UM Center Tonye Jekiri. Also, UM was his first offer. Right now UM has a great chance of getting Okeke in 2016.

Don't fret. You guys have plenty of time to turn him against UM. By the time you're done with him, he'll change his name to Red Belliue and will be speaking with a Cajun twang.

Yep.
Wait until Genron and those other loser coaches get their grimy little fingers on this guy's recruitment.

Is our Sunny related to this Sunny? [The asterisks are covering the word for the African nation that sits between Benin and Cameroon.]

Sunny Odogwu, *****ia

Source: Real Estate

Odogwu started off as a trainee pilot with the defunct *****ian Airways in the late 40s before venturing into insurance. He founded his first company, Dyson & ****t, a *****ian insurance broker, in 1953 but closed shop shortly afterwards, opting instead to work as broker for insurance firms in London and Switzerland before settling back in *****ia in the late fifties to build the Odogwu group, an international conglomerate with interests in real estate, financial services, infrastructure, energy and agriculture. The Odogwu group owns the landmark 5-star Grand Hotel in Asaba in southern *****ia, and is currently building the Le Meridien Grand Hotel and Apartments on Vicotria Island in Lagos at a cost of over $330 million.

Doubt very seriously that that's the case. Our Sunny grew up in a poor rural village according to an article from last August's Palm Beach Post. The name might be common throughout the Igbo area. If you're too young to remember the history, it's somewhat fascinating, as well as somewhat tragic. Those of us old enough to remember the Biafran Civil War, when the Igbo tried to break away from the rest of *****ia, was very painful. There were pictures of young children starving. Many in the rest of the country (*****ia--dam that software that does the censoring) apparently resented the Igbo for their success and over-representation in many positions in the government and the economy. You can google it. Even today, I have seem bumper stickers saying "Biafra Lives." Contrary to what might be your beliefs, Biafra does not come from a music group ("Jello Biafra") but a region of *****ia that tried to secede in the late '60's. It would not surprise me if the bond between these young men is strong enough to draw the kid to UM. Look at the picture--they could be brothers.

Keep in mind that David Njoku is apparently Igbo, too.

Here's the link to the PB Post article. Note that Sunny grew up poor, raised by a single mother in a house without electricity or running water.

Whoops! I guess Jello Biafra is a person, not a group. I'd heard the name, and assumed it was a group. Not familiar with that music. I'm too old.

Guys, bomb is the same ****** that used to post on Bakas' site.

He is clueless
.

•Number three, and this is the most significant: no personal insults. I know this is an argument board, so there will be smart-*** comments. That's normal. But when you get in an insult battle with a poster, the thread stops being about football. You can say that a post is idiotic. But don't say "You're a ****ing idiot." You can call out a poster for being wrong. But don't say, "You're dancing around like a Kansas City "***g0t."

So what if the rules aren't enforced.

We don't live on the board 24x7. STFU with the whining. D$ or Andrew, feel free to de-mod me for this post if necessary, can't stand this routine, I hear this type of **** enough from my 2 year old at home.

Make BTcane a mod.

I saw a pic of them on twitter whereby Okeke, Salomon and Bello were being auction off by Drummond and another coach at University of Alabama yesterday... I don't know how to post the twitter pic, but it's out there. The kids are dressed in normal cloths, the coaches are dressed in their discounted Alabama stuff... ;-)

Coach Drummond, Chidi Valentine Okeke, coach Michael Tunsil, Darnell Salomon and Abdul Bello.

Valentine-Okeke is the real deal

It did not take long for anyone to notice Hialeah (Fla.) Champagnat Catholic offensive tackle Chidi Valentine-Okeke. He immidiately passed the eyeball test and then he kept on making impressions from agilities to position drills to one-on-one and two-on-two drills. At 6-foot-5, 310 pounds, Valentine-Okeke holds his weight well with his broad shoulders and long arms. Then he showed off his athleticism and footwork. He was able to play with a solid base and patience. When he did get beat, he was able to quickly recover and regain a strong position. To say the least, he was impressive from beginning to end and it was not a hard decision to put him at the top of the offensive performers list, which says a lot considering the talent on hand in Jacksonville. -- Howell

LULZ at those shysters not even trying to hide what they're up to. When did it become such commonplace for HS "coaches" to be so involved in great prospects' lives? I don't remember HS "coaches" traveling the globe like this.

Of course, the narrative is always that they're great guys taking the time from their busy lives to help underprivileged players. Of course, they get nothing from it but the satisfaction of rescuing black children by transporting them to the bastion of racial tolerance that is Alabama.

How did college teams recruit HS players before the likes of Mother Teresa Drummond and Father Tunsil and others started traveling the globe on their philanthropic missions of love?

Dg151 - thanks for posting the pic. It's crazy this stuff goes on. These dudes are like parasites...

Yep...I'm surprised Drummond didn't try and get his grimy hands on Sunny's recruitment considering how much money he comes from.

I'm sure Genron will be all over Valentine's recruitment (again).
