People can bash Leach all they want, but ****.

I think Leach's public persona is part schtick. Don't underestimate him. He's a smart guy who had a law degree before coaching. He's recruited and coached for years and dealt with players from all kinds of backgrounds. If he came to Miami I think he'd see it as the opportunity of a lifetime that he's always dreamed of. He'd have every motivation to embrace the city and south Florida. Also, recruits don't just make up their minds from hearing a few things. If he's recruiting you, you'll get to know him and other staff personally. He's really a direct no-nonsense guy and would immediately cut through perceptions. I honestly think his Trump connection is mostly due to the personal support he got from him back when he was at TT when Trump was just a celebrity.

Makes me wonder, also. On top of that, I do know some kids around Miami aren't effected by Trump. They're doing their thing. I think politics is for the adults.
 
OGH you're my boy and I don't mean to one up you. But I think the inner city kids in Miami don't think to much like the ones in NY. For example when KRS One and Chuck D we're rapping about uplifting the race. In Miami we were talking about shake that booty and throw that D. Different streams of conscience. Just my opinion.

Interesting discussion about perceptions. That’s why I believe once families, in particular parents, get to know a HC that it is what persuade a family to direct their child one way or another. We’ve all never seen Leach recruit Miami, and in particular the inner city HS’s. If he believes he could do it, and especially the BoT, then I’m not one to say he couldn’t

Maybe you have driven through the area, but you don't actually know the people living their or how the majority think if this is the logic you use.

If you think Leach would do a good job of recruiting guys from your town. I will not dispute that because I know nothing about your neighborhood. Just like you know nothing about mine.

Why does OGH hate Leach so much.. Michael Irvin on down to Uncle Luke wanted to hire Mike Leach. So many black ppl add coaches in Miami wanted Miami to hire the guy.

Winning, being ranked in the top 10 consistently, and scoring 40+ almost every game recruits itself.......

Your premise that a coach at the U who consistently wins and is ranked in the top 10, who is very iinovative offensively wouldn’t be able to successfully recruit here is even more BS!

This is something that only an idiot would argue. Wazzu has the NUMBER ONE passing offense in the country and Leach
designed it and is the head coach of a top ten ranked team !

The other night Wazzu scored 55 points IN THE FIRST HALF against a P5 team. Leach haters need to chew on THAT !

Umm...No it is not. If you think Leach is going to walk around the inner cities of Miami recruiting kids because he scores a lot of points. You are delusional. In fact go walk around Carol City with a MAGA hat on and see what happens.

He won’t have to really have to recruit. That’s what assistants are for and him winning and scoring a **** load of points ever game will recruit itself....
