Paying Players (per BJ's latest piece)

If you really feel like that, and not just you D. You can’t blame Rumph, Banda etc for missing on top recruits. tc, judas jobe, jj, ps and the list goes on CLEARLY took the bag.
I got on them but I knew they werent going to pull u have to have that in place..........like its so shady and its obvious. U have a guy like Mike Rumph who raised these kids and they went elsewhere. Cmon it cant be any more obvious like cmon, he had them as kids and he cant land them? Give me a break,,,,,thats as obvious as ever. I get mad and blame them and rant but I know its bags.

Why would people say hes a father figure and go else where or our staff is cool banda is cool as **** and then when they sign there gone. Jobe was shady can u blame him? They shop themselves on social media they post bama thing st o get more bread its obvious, they Use us to get another bag.

Tyson looked like he wanted to kill himself lol, but as the godfather movie says u give them a deal they cant say no too.

We simply can’t compete with that. And we got put on probation for some free steak and lobster. It’s just not an even playing field and I don’t see Miami having the boosters to even this out.
We CAN compete with that, it’s a matter of if we WANT to compete w it.

Just curious who some of you think will be filling those bags. This fantasy world some of you live in where our alumni base has the size, passion and financial desire to be paying millions to fill a recruiting class astonishes me.

Bama paid off Saban's $7 million mortgage just because they just didn't know what else to do with all the extra money they had. If Dabo told Clemson he needed to pay someone $500k just to walk behind him carrying a bottled water and a notepad they'd do it.

That's not what we are. It's light years better in legit finances than it's ever been, but that level of crazy will never be us.
We don't need to buy a whole class.Just keep 2-4 of the top local kids home.

We’ve got some very wealthy benefactors. Soffer family, dimare, miller family among others. We don’t have a t boone Pickens but We’re not that broke.

Dude really? Can you really see someone from the Miller or Soffer families dropping $200k in $20 bills somewhere so a bagman can pay off Stevenson's mom?

Grow up man.

Exactly this. Could they afforda 70k truck? Probably. Would anyone making 6 figures drop 70k on their sons first car? 0 chance. Would someone who is making 6 figures be willing to accept a couple hundred grand to play for a school. Absolutely. People act like middle class and wealthy people are immune to bags. People making millions a year accept bribes all the time. Look up any corrupt politician that gets busted. They are accepting tiny bribes of like 10k or tickets to games to break laws. You think a gamily making 200k a year isn't going to accept 200k straight cash to go to UGA instead of NC state? LMAO

Kind of silly for you to say that there is a 0 percent chance that a household making $250k would spend $70k on a truck for their kid. Neither of us knows how that truck was paid for but we do know his parents could afford it and plenty of people in their income class spend $70k on a vehicle.

Retards in this thread think Miami has the boosters to drop bags.

We don’t have those guys and there’s no system in place.

Add to that the fact we have the cheapest fūcking fanbase in CFB, fans that contribute at a level multiples below even middle of the road P5 teams, and you’ll see why this dropping bags talk is pure delusion.

It ain’t happening...I wish we had a stealth bag infrastructure...but we don’t.

Only morons think this is happening, morons that don’t understand what goes on at UM.

I feel everything you usually say but I still think you need a hug.

judas jobe played the game slimey az ****. If you’re going to take the bag, then take it. You don’t have to *** around with coaches like that.

these r the facts read them people thats what every coach is up against, its a losing battle unless the staff does the same thing

UM doesn't have the booster base to come close to competing, regardless of the levity in this thread.

Alabama players take out loans even though they are on full athletic scholarships, knowing full well that, if they don't make the NFL when they graduate, that the Red Elephant boosters will pay off their loans for them. This is on top of the 'support' network they have in place.

Alabama freshman generally use the loan money to get cheap leases on high end vehicles...Freshmen at UM aren't even allowed to have vehicles on campus.

Not to mention the fact that Alabama employs 55...yes, that is fifty five, support personnel, including analysts.

Joke all you want, but, in this era of college football, only a handful of teams have a shot, and UM just doesn't have the resources. If winning national titles is your benchmark, and you aren't a fan of around 8 teams, might as well find yourself another sport to watch.

You are correct 0% chance is hyperbole. However, if the mother really is a doctor that means she is highly educated. The people that make 250k a year and spend 70k on a car are generally the people who made the quick money through opening a business or the like. It is very rare for someone who spends all that time in school to go and spend almost a 3rd of their salary on a car. Also, those people that do spend that type of money aren't buying it for their kid. It is usually the fathers car. Also, this is Georgia not Miami. People spending way beyond their means is something that is much more common in south Florida than in other parts of the nation.

Also, the fact of the matter is. Yes, they could have decided to spend all that money on the car, BUT the MUCH more likely scenario is the family recieved a bag.

this is why I believe its over and have 1% hope

No way in **** Mario is running a clean program at Oregon.Mi hermano learned from his years at Bama and it's pretty clear he has incorporated that into Oregon.
I tend to think he’ll get down and dirty with the bags.

I've always felt that if all things were equal - at least as far as paying players is concerned - then Miami and USCw are the two programs with the highest ceilings. That's why the Alabagas, Clemsons, OSU*, and Georgias of the world will never allow Miami and USCw to get away with half of what they routinely do.

ESPN is a disgrace and we're idiots expecting the corporation that profits from the SEC to ever seriously investigate the SEC.

And let's wait a few years when some of these kids begin to develop health problems due to the PEDs these top flight programs fed them. That's when some of these kids will sue and blow the lid off what I am convinced is going on.

Sorry for ranting but I used to love cfb more than I do now. It's getting boring because of how much cheating is going on. I've never seen it this bad and I've watched since 1970.

I live in Georgia and plenty of money gets spent on kids cars. Look in the parking lots at Alpharetta or Milton High School. Your point is generally valid and I think giving the kid his college savings towards a house is a better investment than towards a car. That being said Nolan Smith is projected to be a pretty good football player. To be honest, if I had a son getting a full ride to the U on a football scholarship then I would buy him a $70k truck (with his college money and not a Ford).

facts

If we dont adopt this we will never be that miami u saw in the old days

The Miami from the old days is dead and gone.

Even with top flight coaching, which we haven't had in almost decades, the deficiencies in recruiting depth and resources between us and the top programs is just too great to overcome.

Can we have better coaching than we have had? Sure. Can we pay two dozen ex-coaches to sit around during games, steal signals, and radio them in like Alabama does? Not a chance.

Our ceiling is basically what Washington has been under Peterson, a well coached team that competes well within it's conference, but gets its *** kicked when it plays against the 'select' teams.

Everyone knows that Georgia, Penn St, Clemson, etc cheats in lots of small ways...but Bama...Bama institutionalized cheating on a massive scale. Bama is basically what you'd get if you gave Bill Belichick a blank check, no oversight, and a fanbase of crazies deprived of most of life's pleasures all living vicariously through a football team.

As great as Miami's program once was, the game has changed. And what it is now, Miami will never be able to have that kind of success again.

Lower your expectations and accept reality, choose another sport, or remain perpetually miserable on message boards.

It pains me to say I agree with this
