Paying Players (per BJ's latest piece)

I mean, we stand zero chance of winning a bidding war for a recruit Bama/Georgia want, even if we decided to go that route.

Coaches have to figure out how to recruit against this reality.

Honestly, I'm pretty sure Mario runs a clean program, as does Harbaugh. Two top-5 classes. So SEC bags hurt us but its not like you cant recruit because of it

I have a question. I always head UM say they don’t have money. How are we suppose to compete with no money?

The UGA buy the house plan is funny, but those trades have records. If it could be shown the price made no sense in that market and a booster was associated iwth the payment....

Someone with time should do this work and offer it to... Yahoo. Let’s see if they run with it.

I heard dude that committed to Georgia the other week(can’t remeber his name) he rolled up at school in a 2019 Ford Raptor pick up truck the day after the signing period lmao

No way in **** Mario is running a clean program at Oregon.Mi hermano learned from his years at Bama and it's pretty clear he has incorporated that into Oregon.

Doubt it. Oregon has Nike money but they dont have a SEC-style network of boosters. Mario is a great recruiter, although he really benefits from USC sucking right now.

We can’t be a delusional fan base like the “good Catholics” of ND. New era, new rules. If we wanna get back, we have to get IN the game..
its not about delusional its about knowing if u do it u will get caught ncaa is out to get Miami and espn/si help them so its not like Miami gets a free pass like bama/meyer/and Clemson do

Never underestimate the power of denial.

I find it comical that anyone believes that every major program is not dropping bags. Now whether some can afford to drop bigger bags then others is a different story.

Whatever the minimum of necessary paperwork to absolve a player of improper benefits received is, it's not a problem. A title for a moderately priced SUV can be created in a relative's name, as can a receipt of sale for a reasonable price.

"Hey, how'd he get that ride? His uncle bought it. How did his uncle buy it? Paid cash. Paid cash, how'd he do that? ****, we don't know, but here's the receipt where he paid cash, and now y'all ain't got ****. Go tell the NCAA you think we're cheating because this kid's uncle bought him a used Tahoe in cash, you racist."

The real estate industry is more valuable than CFB and public records driven....

A public records search could probably turn up some skeletons here.

An interesting query would just be to screen for trades (quantitative metrics) that made no sense in their markets, then try to figure out which ones can trace to an address associated with a player or their family-members.

Ironically, because UGA is a public institution, there are probably FOIA searches that could be used to find the relevant links.

Genius. Now that's the level we need to be at! Create layers and layers and layers...

And listening to these players interviews when asked about why they chose a school is hilarious, they're like " uhh what was I suppose to say for this question again.... tradition that's right tradition and academics."

OK, I'm as against paying the players as anyone. And I mean dropping bags. Players should be paid by the NCAA.

But there are smart ways to do it, if we were to. I worked for years in Private Banking, which included extensive estate planning and transfer of assets. I'm pretty certain there are ways we could structure "compensation" that does not violate NCAA rules.

Here's an example: A bunch of the fanbase comes together to donate to a single asset pool, that is used for private scholarships for athletes. There is no limit on scholarship money a college student can receive. I've known people that got paid to go to school (I could have, at UF). Just one thought.

Do it, but do it within the rules by being creating, instead of overtly breaking the rules, which we'll never get away with.
