Packard and Durham on Manny

This is the track people who don't care about Miami want. Not Miami fans.
3 years is not enough time to properly evaluate a coach unless he's lost the locker room.

Actions speak louder than words.

Yes, they’ve said on air, for their employer, how they want us to be good for the overall “perception” (there’s that word again) for the ACC. However, their actions in being completely upset at our firing of Blake James, conjuring up how “GREAT” of an AD he was for us, and now defending Diaz, again, conjuring up a narrative of him righting the ship…bruh, their actions show they want us messing up their precious Tobacco Road cargo.
How do people read into that they want Miami to fail.

The whole point to Miami joining the ACC, was that Miami and FSU would compete for conference titles every year. That's what the conference wanted and expected. There's no conspiracy here. Miami just hasn't held its end of the bargain.

I think Packer and Durham just aren't clued into why Miami fans want to move on from Diaz and James. They think Miami hasn't given Diaz enough time and pointed to every school that changes coaches every 2-3 years has failed. That's their opinion. It doesn't mean they want Miami to fail. Regarding James, pretty much the same as Diaz. He did some nice things, but has failed at others that are not forgivable by the fanbase.

Ok, I didn't want to engage in futile discussion here but I will play along just to be polite.

How long Clemson coach you brought up been at Clemson total with the record you posted above? Compare that to how long Diaz been at Miami total. Diaz has been responsible for the defense, recruiting, development and execution at Miami for almost 7 years now. See the huge difference?

Diaz has been here almost 4 years prior to being a HC. There is a continuity of his defense for almost 7 years now and the defense has been deteriorating instead of getting better. Context is crucial to comparing the 3 year record for both coaches. One came from the outside and had to install everything new. The other has been in house and part of organization continuing the same recruiting, development and game planning and execution. Three years plus 4 before is more than enough to know the guy and very fair to him.

His failure is obvious to anyone who cares or even anyone who is not biased.

Said Clemson coach had been there 5 years prior to taking on the head coaching job.

Said that Manny got the program back on track said Manny deserves another year or two which I agree yall can get mad all yall want but with the right DC we're a championship team Tvd is dangerous and we really can't disrupt what he's doing. Everyone in the country on notice
Nope! We aren’t a championship team until that OL gets completely fixed and with depth. Then you still need to completely fixed the defense and depth. A long ways to go!

1. Vouching & getting mad at Miami firing Blake when he’s clearly been one of our worst ADs??

2. Saying Manny has righted the ship when we’ve been seeing epic, historic fails every single year?? He deserves another year after being here for 6 yrs??!

Come on, dog! Read between the lines. These doofuses have praised everything wrong w/ us, and criticizing us for trying to make changes! How is that wanting us to be good??! Lol.

Our recruiting is in the 60s. He sux

Defense giving up not offense lol but continue. That's why I said hire a great DC and all that goes away duh
Remind me again who fired the defensive coordinator last year? How did that work? Manny will not hire a guy and let him do his thing. He will always want to meddle with the defense. Not to mention with a new no nonsense athletic director Manny and his hires would be on a very tight rope. As such what highly regarded defensive coordinator in his right mind would come here for that? The reasonable and thought out answer is no one.
Sure you might hire some scrub with no experience. But we’ll still have a **** defense.

No, it is too late for Manny. He had his shot to fix the defense last year. Keeping him will only guarantee another year of poor defense and a 7-5, 8-4 ish season again. We really need to want better than that. Pass.

CMR last season he was 7-6 with consecutive losses to UVA, BC, Duke, and GT....and a blowout bowl loss to Wisconsin. Keep pushing your narrative though.
He had us playing in ACCCG, obviously not anywhere close since CMD took. Blow out loss to me is letting NC drop 62 on you.

Based on what exactly? He just lost to a 3 win team last week…. We’re still a pretty bad tackling team, and defense is as inconsistent as ever…. I’d be in favor of retaining Lashlee but that’s about it…

If they said that about just Diaz, I could say difference in philosophy and opinion, fine. But if you read the BS they tossed about Blake about why he should stay without saying how bad just about every one of our teams are and still don’t think there is something fishy, then I don’t know what to tell you.

"Back on track"

2018 record: 7-6
Likely 2021 record: 7-6

If by "back on track" they mean exactly where they've been since 2005, then yeah. They're right.
Diaz hasn’t gotten this team more on track than Shannon or Golden. It’s the sos.
