Great posting Duvalco! Scuba and Tad, what happened is that the thread began outside of your care/consciousness and then elevated way over your heads. Obama is more of a progressive conservative where his actual policies and not race are concerned. He is still the lesser of a way larger evil, in a few ways represented on this thread.
...and "GRRRRR" @ this Gatorhater character championing the idea that blacks should just remain subservient and "go with the flow" or else the big bad white man will "cut our water off". *****, LAFF!!!
Not sure where I ever said that. It seems that you have some issues with how other blacks choose to make decisions and what those decisions are. You seem to think they must agree with you or else. I merely assert they have the right to do as they deem fit. You want to dictate their behavior; I merely assert they have rights. You want some form of communal control marching to the order of, I assume, you; I support individual rights. You assume you know what is best for others. I prefer they make independent choice. You worry about achieving goals you deem important and support surrender of individual rights to that common goal. Views such as yours have always led to some form of dictatorship by someone who knows what is best. That is not exactly a new idea. It does seem that your issue is with blacks who disagree with you not me, but if you choose to direct it toward me, feel free. Having lived through the 60's you seem a bit quaint to
You're damned right. Any movement that has brought about a fundamental sea-change for the betterment of a people has, and always will, start with one common goal/idea that the people must subscribe to in order to further that specific goal. You worry about the breeding a "dictator"?...how about a "king"??? What's the difference? Motive? Intent??? You speak of individualism, yet the very democratic process (proffered by another poster above i.e., "be a dad and vote") that brings about fundamental change in this country is based largely upon the popular vote, i.e. the number of like-minded individuals voting, in unison, for a particular candidate based solely on his/her specific set of ideals. What's the difference? Is it the message? ..that Blacks should be self-sufficient, reign in our "individual" spending, redirecting those funds to bolster education in our community?...that our "individual" talents be the vehicle that drive small businesses and subsequent generational wealth? Is this not the Republican platform (since most will ignorantly assume I "vote" democratic)? Why then, is it so scary to the average white man that a black man stands upon the slave master's very same "platform"?
So let me get this straight...If I advocate for the meeting of the minds within the "black community" to effectuate mass consolidation for the sole purpose of healing and education which will, undoubtedly, cure the bulk of the problems that plague said community (crime, poverty, fatherlessness, etc.), then I stand, judged a "dictator"??? Then maybe we should re-examine our definition of a "dictator" and "dictatorship"? Because this dictator wants to kill the current ails of the black community. Those who oppose, I can only assume, push to keep the current condition of blacks one that exists in perpetuity. "Those" who oppose-white, black, or other, are the definition of pure evil and must be purged from the face of the planet. I stand on my word. God stands by his. "Live by the sword"....I'm ready to accept all consequences....
