Outside the box coaching candidates?

2. Coach Eric Taylor (not sure if he'd be interested in making the jump, but clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose).

I raise you one, and say we call Gary Gaines, to turn this into reality

Gary Gaines is just a bit too old (and I think he's retired).
Now, Billy Bob Thornton as Gary Gaines... that might work.

Mario, Stoops, Schiano, O'brien, Kiffin, Pittman and Fickell all say no. Now name 5 candidates who you'd like to see us go after.
Lets get our expectations straight, to avoid a meltdown:

Mario aint leaving $Oregon$
Pittman aint leaving Arkansas
Fickell would go to USC before us.

That leaves Stoops and Schiano, who we have already turned down twice (maybe three times).

What about Chud? @Canesfreak

David Beckham, because he's make an on campus stadium happen.

Wait, that's a terrible idea.

Gary Patterson
Kyle wittingham
Chris Petersen
Mel tucker
Hugh freeze

Also ok with the regulars being named (mario, stoops, Luke, lane)

We could do a helluva lot worse than somebody Bruce Arians swears by. I think Byron has his eyes set on getting an NFL HC job though. At minimum he'd probably be on a very short list of candidates in Pittsburgh if Mike Tomlin ever leaves.
If Mike was to EVER leave he would get another Job right away!! Byron goes give me NFL vibes but hey you never know.

Here's another out of the box one. Ed Orgeron (pretty sure he's getting fired from LSU ). I don't think he'd have any problem with hiring Herman for OC. Even though he's a corch, he's respected enough that good coordinators would work for him. Team would be a lot tougher too. Not my 1-8 choice, but if people were ok with the Richt hire, they should be OK with Ed O. He's at least won a championship and sent Saban packing.
I actually like that idea. I mean Ed O has remained mostly average in the toughest division (and conference) in college football during his tenure at LSU. His team IS NOT going to be soft, mentally or physically. He will be highly motivated, practices will be INTENSE and guys will learn to tackle, and he instantly goes from the toughest division in the toughest conference to a division that should can be had and really a conference that can be had as well with Clemson showing chinks in the armor.

Guys would be ****ED but I believe not only would he be a safe pick that can get us the annual 10 wins but also he's a smart pick. If we're staying away from G5, staying away from 1st time HCs....IMO Orgeron is just as good as a pickup as a guy like Stoops. Guarantee that Stoops record at LSU would be similar to Coach O's in the same amount of time w/o a Natty on the resume (I know it Joe Brady's O that took them there, but Orgeron recruited Burrow as a transfer/Jamar Chase/Jefferson/Clyde/ and all those nasty defenders on the squad.....so credit to Joe Brady but Ed O brought him there so AT LEAST a little credit has to go to him for that run they made)

Chud's happy as **** exactly where he is at. Definitely not coming back to Miami anytime soon. Still has that Brown's $$$$.

That said, Tom Herman me. I'm all in. 54-22 as a HC; 5-0 in bowl games; and, 6-2 after bye weeks. Bring him to me!!!!!!

I love Billy Napier too.

Jordan Orlovsky has the attention of Miami's brass. I will leave it at that.
I was going to dislike ur post....but that would make me seemingly say ur wrong when ur not wrong

I just want you to be wrong in the worse way....why us??? smh every other team gets to have nice things but us smh
