Outside of DBs or WRs, the State of Florida no longer produces elite talent

The state of Florida no longer produces elite talent, except DBs and WR’s and it’s having a major impact on Miami, and the big 3 in the state. Does the State produce elite DBs and WRs? Yes, but not much else.

If you’re looking for other talented players, my view posits that the State of Florida is mediocre at producing talent, which is impacting Miami as much as the bad coaching. Georgia, South Carolina, Texas, California, the Washington DMV area, Ohio and Louisiana have all surpassed the state of Florida when producing other high level talent.

And before anyone questions South Carolina, that state has produced a ridiculous amount of NFL talent the past 10 years and Clemson’s roster is filled with Carolina talent.

Does FL produce elite Olineman? Nope
Dline? Nope
TEs? Nope
QBs? Negative
Linebackers? Ehhh...but, I’ll also say no, here. There are few, if any recent standouts
Kickers? **** nah
RBs? Ehhh. In the last 10 years there have been only 3 elite RBs that have produced at a consistent high level: Dalvin Cook, Davonta Freeman and Duke Johnson. And only 2 are doing anything noteworthy in the NFL: Cook and Freeman.

Where am I going with this? The strategy of “building a fence” around South Florida to recruit, and recruiting the state of a Florida to make up the core of the team, is flawed because the State no longer produces great players outside of DBs and WRs. Time to expand the operation

Duke Johnson has done more than freeman in the league in the past 2-3 years and you left out Lamar miller who before this season and his injury had the most rushing yards of any rb in the league since 2014.

Derrick Henry and Lamar Miller to your RB list.

Matt Bosher, Pat O'Donnell, Eddy Pineiro kicking the ball

Lamar Jackson and Teddy Bridgewater at QB.

These guys may not be elite NFL players, but this is already beyond most states and I've spent 30 seconds on this thought.

Derrick Henry would disagree with you re RBs

I think This is a wrong take. It produces elite talent but most of it doesn’t come here. Look at some of the recent 5 star lineman the last 3 recruiting classes Nicholas petit frere(osu), Alex leatherwood/Evan neal(bama).

Now what you can argue is many of these elite teams have a handful of Florida kids(specifically south Florida) kids but not a roster comprised of mainly them. They supplement that with other elite kids around the country. South Florida kids play a small role in why Ohio state or Clemson is what they are now or even Oklahoma etc. bama uses south Florida kids well but even they don’t have that many just some of the elite ones outside of a few here and there.

Josh Sitton, Laremy Tunsil, the Pouncey brothers, Ereck Flowers, older Linder. Maybe not all-Pros, but that'd make one **** of a college O-line.

I dont really care if the QBs or OL are ripping up the NFL. I want them to play well in college for Miami.

You’re helping my argument. Clemson and Bama consistently pluck WRs and DBs from Florida. That’s about it.

Alabama took leatherwood but he’s been somewhat of a bust
Look at Florida top 1000 for 2020 DEs, RBs, DTs, Lbs, safeties, OGs and OTs in the top 25 all leaving.
