The state of Florida no longer produces elite talent, except DBs and WR’s and it’s having a major impact on Miami, and the big 3 in the state. Does the State produce elite DBs and WRs? Yes, but not much else.
If you’re looking for other talented players, my view posits that the State of Florida is mediocre at producing talent, which is impacting Miami as much as the bad coaching. Georgia, South Carolina, Texas, California, the Washington DMV area, Ohio and Louisiana have all surpassed the state of Florida when producing other high level talent.
And before anyone questions South Carolina, that state has produced a ridiculous amount of NFL talent the past 10 years and Clemson’s roster is filled with Carolina talent.
Does FL produce elite Olineman? Nope
Dline? Nope
TEs? Nope
QBs? Negative
Linebackers? Ehhh...but, I’ll also say no, here. There are few, if any recent standouts
Kickers? **** nah
RBs? Ehhh. In the last 10 years there have been only 3 elite RBs that have produced at a consistent high level: Dalvin Cook, Davonta Freeman and Duke Johnson. And only 2 are doing anything noteworthy in the NFL: Cook and Freeman.
Where am I going with this? The strategy of “building a fence” around South Florida to recruit, and recruiting the state of a Florida to make up the core of the team, is flawed because the State no longer produces great players outside of DBs and WRs. Time to expand the operation
Burns Balling in the league too2 sFL DEs in the first round last year in Nick Bosa and Brian Burns
Miami LOCKS!2 sFL DEs in the first round last year in Nick Bosa and Brian Burns
This is a take I can’t get behind. South Florida has produced and continues to produce elite talent at every position.
How dare you forget how many stud LBs came from the bottom?
Internet search will tell you Florida is in the top 5 states of NFL players. Not the be-all-end-all it used to be... WR/DBs with a few RBs sprinkled in for good measure. NOT OL, NOT TE, NOT QB, NOT DT/DE, NOT LBs.
So 'fencing' Miami is 1980s talk. Nostalgic...
Since St Lucie County is part of the WPB media market and the Miami CSA, ill throw in Khalil Mack

GA is the best recruiting state. You can find QBs, trench work, WRs and DBs, and LBs.
I will forward Manolo and the coaching staff your amazingly informative post. They will contact you as soon as they can free up a spot in order to hire you. just have to find them and develop them like we use to.This is a take I can’t get behind. South Florida has produced and continues to produce elite talent at every position.

You can get everything but OL in South Florida.
And if we werent morons we’d be runnjng spread offenses with So Fla QBs.
Wed be playing simple cover 1 and cover 4 defenses, instead of manny’s bull**** zone blitz hybrid.
But we also have to land the TOP kids. Guys like Dalvin Cook singlehandedly take over games and we dont land those kids anymore.
If Vince Wilfork was a HS senior today hed be committee to Bama or UGA. That kind of **** HAS to stop.
Unfortunately our HC is a terrible recruiter, so good luck with that.
