Our players are not good

How many coaches are we going to blame before we realize we have recruited the wrong players.

Id be more willing to believe that Mario Diaz deliberately lost this game to teach his players an important, painful lesson about preparation before going into ACC play than to believe UM didn't have the talent to beat MTSU.

The players absolutely have sucked.
Starting the first 3 offensive drives with Pick, Pick 6, Fumble has NOTHING to do with Coaching.
Allowing their 5'7" 150lb WR to just straight up run past your CB twice on a 98 yard reception and a 71 yard reception don't have to do with scheme they are about lack of execution.

BUT, we CLEARLY have superior talent. This wasn't JUST an "our players suck" loss. This was firmly getting out worked and out coached as well. That includes inside the trenches with Our Oline.

It's that south Florida athlete frontrunner mindset. You can sprinkle a few south Florida guys on rosters at Alabama and Georgia, because they have to adapt to survive. But a roster full of south Florida guys? Not in 2022. The mental toughness and desire to win just isn't there. Look at FIU today.

Who said anything about talent?

Two things can be true. Its the coaches and players.

We're down to a single RB due to lack of depth
We don't have any WR who don't have issues with drops
Mallory can't catch or block
Best O-lineman is out
QB has too many issues to list
Our DE can't get to the QB consistently
Flagg is NOT a starting caliber LB, but we lack depth
Ivey is a TD allowed waiting to happen, but we have no depth to replace him with
We have to start Couch and Porter due to lack of depth

The coaches are an issue too. I can only go on what we've seen though.
The players have no sense of urgency under him
He's playing the few players who actually backups who are better
Mario has no concept of clock management
Gattis has no red zone offense. I've never seen anything like this. Richt and Penos were more creative in the red zone

We're a cluster **** of bad coaching and bad players

The chasm between the HS hype surrounding our So Fla HS recruits and how they actually play when they hit the field is huge. Lack of size, fundamentals, physical play and speed leads me to wonder if the rep of South Fla HS excellence is still valid at all. Or, these days, is it just a myth from days long gone by.

South Florida players seem to play very well for other coaching staffs.

Weird.

I didn't want to come on here today to give my opinion. I'm sure you've all had enough of that. But I find it disappointing that I can't point a finger on the staff or the players for today's game. They were both TERRIBLE. Coaching, more so than the players. This offensive system has broken TVD. Add in the boos, he should've been benched...just to give his mind a break. These out plays aren't getting sh*t done, yet...it's **** near half the play calls. We're playing death by a thousand cuts.

I can't fix my mind to think the second team couldn't beat MTSU. Blue chip talent or not, they only produced on the DL (because they knew we were stubbornly going to run right into the middle of them) and beating Ivey like I do my alarm clock at 9:30 every night. I'm just going to stop here because we all see the same thing and this is just rehashing it. The coaches should be embarrassed, and the players need to figure out a way to play within this sh*t scheme or give up their spot.

So the consistency is just poor recruiting? A roster that has been full of players recruited by other big 3 programs in the state, Bama, Georgia, all the other big names in the country. Give me a break, guys like James Williams, Leonard Taylor, Bissainthe, Arroyo, Parrish, Knighton, etc aren’t guys that you can win with in the ACC let alone beat Middle Tennessee? We have consistently recruited top 15 classes full of South Florida kids. The only thing that could prove this hypothesis correct would be shifting our whole recruiting approach to out of state.

We have a bunch of overpaid losers. Losers that are used to losing and will continue to lose.

The two interceptions were Bad calls.. you throw short routes to the short side of the field when the defense is pressing.. a timing throw at that.. bad call! Keep leaving the d-end unblocked and try to throw short around him.. bad play calling.

No one can argue that. I believe they are just dudes that are just happy to be canes not hungry to win or go to the league.
Lol. We keep saying that over and over, year in year out. We’ve had a handful of seasons where we have finished top 25 since 05 yet we are still too 10-15 year in year out of most players in the NFL. Just a bunch of kids who lack any motivation, but they still go onto making training camp rosters, practice squads and get 2nd and 3rd contracts in the NFL? Something isn’t adding up.

always an excuse... Bro it was a simple out route. now OCs need to remove all out routes to short side of field? The second one was because he threw it directly at the Dlineman - the WR/TE was wide open.

bccu almost walked right down the field on their very first series to open the season

and you post this? This hasn't got jack **** to do with the players, mario is a bad coach point blank.

It's annoying that teams like Wake Forest have taken advantage of the COVID redshirts to field experienced, grown-man teams.

Somehow our COVID redshirts are ******' Mallory and Ivey.
Their COVID redshirts are also coached by a guy who gets the most out of their players. Our COVID redshirts are coached by a guy who preaches toughness in front of the camera and getting back to the old canes toughness and bravado. This team looks to be the least inspired team we have had since as long as I can remember. Sad to say but Manny had this team playing with more heart and urgency.
