Make Soresby, Leavitt(if healthy) and the kid from NT say no. Then turn to Bailey.

I don't see it with Leavitt - really inaccurate.

Soresby's highlights are great, but I hear he's inconsistent af too.

Yeastmaker has a season of starting games and he tanked against any legit team he played. He'd be foolish not to follow his HC.

Sorsby seems destined to go to Texas tech but you still try imo

Hoover has Indiana heat and was a mess at times this year but imo has both a higher floor and ceiling (for 2026 - Bailey could be higher ceiling in 2027)

If we are going to roll dice I’d take a stab at mestemaker first before Bailey.

After that list I pray others enter portal. They may. I didn’t even realize pribula entered yesterday not that I want

If not then this would be the point I entertain Bailey

Keep us farrrr away from Lagway because a he’s a mess and broken despite the athletic talent but not sure he’s a great qb now or in two years.

I also want nothing to do with Raiola - I don’t think he’s a winner or a leader. He’s jeff George cosplaying mahomes

Leavitt has accuracy concerns and that foot injury. Pribula is terrible. So if they don’t get sorsby, Hoover or even leavitt you won’t be happy?

Looks lost out there at times. Makes some questionable throws even in this bowl games. Struggling to get a 50% completion percentage against Memphis?? Beck would be in the 90s. No way we beat ND in 26 with Bailey.

Leavitt is a gamer. Which I know is fan speak for he’s better than his numbers suggest. But I’m watching him on somewhat mediocre ASU team, who beat TT with him not at 100%. No one else had them on the ropes like that. So my thinking is, if he comes to a more well rounded team, like us, he’d naturally improve.

Soresby is the one I think that offers the most boom/bust yield. He’s not a perfect QB but again, he did a lot with a lesser team. So again, the pieces around him would naturally offer a level of performance increase.

Mestemaker is a wild card. I’m not trying to beat a dead horse here, but again the talent level around him is probably lower at NT than the other two. NT is literally just chuck it around the yard for 60 minutes. The one year is a bit worrisome but the point still stands, he should be better here. Plus I personally think he’d fit our system better than the other two.

The problem is, there’s not an unquestioned guy in the portal this year. Ward was the clear cut #1 guy. Beck was the most seasoned and ready QB last year. You just don’t have this season. Everything I said about the others is true for Bailey as well. I might be way too gun shy after his performance vs us to want him. That’s what worries me. We thoroughly dismantled him. Like he looked as bad as Stanford’s QB against us. That’s a major red flag imo.

Cheap relative to Beck. Hes not getting over 2 mill
 
I take it this Marshall bloke at NC St wasn't covering Toney at all? I've heard two sets of commentators slobber all over him - I don't recall NC St stopping anything against us.

Every time I watch this dude he does nothing lol between ND, FSU, our game, and now just popped this game on in 3rd quarter

I’m more interested in how Bailey projects to improve than what he does now. He has skills and traits, no doubt. He hasn’t look good against the best teams, but NC State was overmatched across the board.

Same for the North Texas quarterback.

What I would like is a two-year starter which I think we get with either.
 
Leavitt

1. He wins. In games he started he is 16-4.

2. He has played on the big stage, including the BIG12 Championship which they won and a loss in the playoffs to #5 Texas in double overtime

3. He protects the ball with 36 touchdowns to 11 interceptions over 2 1/2 season at two schools.

4. He has thrown for 4,652 yards and rushed for 816.

5. He has numerous wins over ranked opponents, about 6 to be exact. Including #7Texas Tech this year who only has 1 loss and currently #4.

CJ Baily has 19 interceptions in his short career
